Heraklion Archaeological Museum
If the heat is too much during the middle of the day then head to the cultural Heraklion Archaeological Museum which is located in the city centre. This museum was closed for 8 years while renovating and raising money to reopen and it is now a very interesting museum with many artefacts to wander.
