Brasilia Bergen
Brasilia Bergen is Bergen's first and only authentic Brazilian steakhouse. The dining room has a wonderful South American rustic ambience. Dining at Brasilia Bergen is a fun experience and quite easy. Visit the buffet to load up your plate with side items and have a seat at your table. The staff will then come by your table with giant skewers full of flavorful, tender beef, juicy chicken, pork, and lamb. When you can't physically fit any more food into your stomach, you turn the green coaster over to the red side and they'll leave you to your cocktails. Brasilia Bergen is open Monday from 4PM to 10PM, Tuesday through Thursday from 4PM to 11PM, Friday & Saturday from 4PM to midnight, and Sunday from 3PM to 10PM. Reservations are accepted.
Vinyl
Vinyl is a laid back, cozy late night bar in central Bergen. They have great bartenders and a very friendly staff to help you relax. Their food menu mostly consists of sliders, fries, and dips. They prepare their sliders in a number of different ways that always earn great reviews, and they can also prepare vegetarian sliders. The tap wall behind the bar is full of draft beers from all over the world, and they also have a full bar. Things to do in Bergen in November
Bergen Maritime Museum
You can't avoid Bergen's maritime traditions anywhere in the city it's a major part of their life. The Bergen Maritime Museum was established in 1914 to preserve and showcase their nautical heritage. Exhibits include recreations of ancient vessels, artifacts dating back hundreds of years, trade ships, and warships from both World Wars. Rotating exhibits and films also make their way through the museum. There is also a collection of nautical artwork and a library selling gifts. The Bergen Maritime Museum is located at the university and is open daily from 11AM to 3PM.
Bryggen Hanseatic Museum
Bryggen's fascinating medieval history is on display at the Hanseatic Museum, a large colorful building near the harbor. The museum itself is one of the oldest standing buildings in Bergen, having escaped the fires that have swept through. The museum showcases the lives of the Hanseatic trade merchants that helped Bergen become the city that it is today. Living quarters were found in this and neighboring buildings, and one of the rooms hasn't been touched since the early 1700s, offering insight into this period. The neighboring Schotstuene building, which is covered by your admission paid to the Hanseatic museum, served as assembly halls. In September the museum is open from 9AM to 5PM.
KODE Art Museums
Another one of Bergen's renowned art centers is the KODE art museums. This complex is made up of four large galleries at Lille Lungegaardsvannet park and also a number of smaller museums and galleries around the greater Bergen area. Of the four main galleries & museums in central Bergen, KODE 1 is where they have a collection of classical fine art including sculptures and other works from around the world. KODE 2 features much more contemporary exhibits, and KODE 3 houses a collection from Norwegian artists. KODE 4 is unique in that it's the first fine art museum in Norway targeted to children. Some of the galleries have restaurants and cafes on the property, and there are also others to choose from in the surrounding neighborhoods.
VilVite Bergen Science Center
Bergen has a fun interactive science center that both kids and adults will enjoy visiting. It's perfect for a cold rainy day. Bergen Science Center VilVite is housed in a modern glass building that features over 100 exhibits. The exhibits range from the human body, outer space, marine environment, weather, and energy. You can try your hand at giving a weather forecast in front of TV cameras, ride a bike in a 360-degree G force loop, and navigate a ship through weather. There are also a number of both educational & entertaining 3D films and other science demonstrations periodically showing at the science center. The science center is open Tuesday through Friday from 9AM to 3PM and on weekends from 10AM to 5PM.
