Edvard Grieg Museum

One of the most notable composers in the world was Norwegian Edvard Grieg.  His former home, known as Troldhaugen, is now a museum dedicated to his life and works.  The house was built in 1885 and is where he would sit and compose many of his masterpieces.  The museum is open to public self-guided tours but informed local guides are also available to take you through the property and tell you about Edvard's life and contribution to the musical arts.  Edvard and his wife Nina are buried on the property.  Troldhaugen is open 9AM to 6PM and is located south of the Bergen airport.  You can take the light rail but will still have to walk 20 minutes from the stop.  There is also a café and shop at Troldhaugen; the museum is part of the KODE galleries.
