Nossa Senhora da Rocha
Nossa Senhora da Rocha beach features a beautiful thin strip of sand bordered by tall, imposing cliffs. Another rugged winter option is Sao Rafael, a sandy cove that is again flanked by the tall cliffs that are so prominent in this region. There are several magnificent rocks dotted around the beach which provide interesting views, and there is an on-site café to quench all your refreshment needs.
Bars And Restaurants
Vaults in nearby Almancil is not only a fabulous dinner choice, but also an architectural wonder, with exposed brick, domed interiors that were once a coach house. Sundays are carvery days, serving up the best local meats, but for the rest of the week there is a 2-course set menu including classic dishes like warm goat's cheese, lamb shank, pork fillet, Eton mess, and apple crumble.
For well-priced traditional food, head to The Zanzibar in the Old Village. Every week there is live music, as well as the occasional karaoke night, and the menu is filled with hearty meals like steak, lamb, and freshly caught fish dishes. The specials of the day change regularly so keep an eye out for them, too.
Things To Do In Vilamoura In November
Adventure lovers might want to tour the region's coast by kayak with the Kayak Centre. The trip takes you in and around the coves and grottos that characterise the rugged coastline, and it's perfect for beginners as well as seasoned kayakers.
