July marks the peak of summer in VilamouraPortugal, and the temperatures reach their highest point in the year. It can be stiflingly hot if you are not used to the Portuguese sun, so make sure you regularly load up with a high SPF suncream and seek out shade during the hottest parts of the day. It's important to keep hydrated in the heat, too, so drink plenty of water and other liquids.

Further down the coast from Praia do Forte Novo there is Praia do Almargem, a beautiful white-sand beach with an unusual lagoon set behind it. The wide beach is dotted with rows of sunbeds and is surrounded by lush greenery. In addition, there are several beach bars and restaurants lining the sands for your refreshment.
