November is still hot in Abu Dhabi but lower temperatures are more bearable.  The average temperature in November is 25°C, made up of daytime averages of 31°C and night averages of 18°C.  A record high of 38°C has still been recorded in Abu Dhabi in November.

Rainfall

Abu Dhabi on average gets one day of measurable rain in November, but the rain total is still less than 10mm.  The chance of precipitation averages 2% and climbs slightly towards the end of November.

Dress Code

If you're visiting Abu Dhabi in November you'll want to wear light, loose clothing to stay cool.  You will also want to respect the local customs that are quite different from Western culture.  Men should wear long pants and at least short sleeve shirts.  Men should also wear shorts at the beach, similar to board shorts. 

Women must be covered from their shoulders to past their knees when out in most public places.  A two-piece bikini is okay for the beach.  If women are visiting a mosque they should be completely covered except for their hands and face.  Also note that air conditioning keeps the buildings cold, so you may want a light jacket.  Check the Abu Dhabi extended forecast before your trip for a better idea of the expected weather.

With a perfect location in west Corniche, the five-star Radisson Blu Hotel & Resort, Abu Dhabi Corniche puts you right in the middle of the best of Abu Dhabi.  Contemporary rooms are equipped with minibars and flatscreen TVs, large bathrooms, and some include spectacular views of the Gulf.  Suites are also available with separate living areas.  The Abu Dhabi Cornichealso features three outdoor pools, a luxurious spa experience, and a private beach.  There is no shortage of dining with 15 bars and restaurants to choose from.  Options include sushi, an international buffet, trattoria, and an elegant Asian restaurant.  The Abu Dhabi Corniche also has a kid's club for when the adults need to do their own thing.

Beaches in Abu Dhabi in November

Khalidiya Palace Beach is one of Abu Dhabi's smaller beaches at 200m long, but it's located in a very well-protected harbor.  This beautiful white sandy beach is private for guests of Khalidiya Palace Hotel, but the general public may also access this beach by paying a fee.  Khalidiya Palace Beach also has a children's pool and another large, landscaped pool for swimming.  Showers and changing rooms are available.  Afterwards you can enjoy one of Khalidiya Palace's many restaurants and lounges.  One of these restaurants is the Sunset Bar, a hip restaurant near the pool serving tapas and non-alcoholic drinks with great waterfront views.

Al Fanar Restaurant & Café

For classic Emirati cooking with a traditional, rustic dining experience, check out Al Fanar at the Ritz Carlton.  This critically acclaimed restaurant has a number of signature dishes, including chicken with yellow rice, shrimp with rice & onion, and legaimat, a fried dough ball covered in date syrup.  Breakfast is served all day and includes eggs, bread, cheese, and date syrup.  Al Fanar serves a number of flavorful stews of lamb and mutton, and also has an impressive dessert menu.  Al Fanar is open from 6:30PM to midnight.  Al Fanar also has another location at Yas Island near Ferrari World.

The Garden Restaurant

The Garden Restaurant is one of Abu Dhabi's better international buffets, located in the Crowne Plaza Hotel.  The restaurant has a wonderful, airy, casual atmosphere and the staff is amazing.  All food items are prepared fresh with the best ingredients, and the buffet also features some live cooking stations where you can watch the cooks at work.  The Garden has a great seafood menu featuring lobster, shrimp, and grilled fish.  Indian food features great curries and tandoor dishes.  Breakfasts at The Garden are also highly reviewed if you can make it there in the morning.  The Garden Restaurant is open daily from 6AM to 11PM.

Byblos Sur Mer

The InterContinental's Byblos Sur Mer is a delightful Lebanese restaurant overlooking the water from either the cozy dining room or patio seating.  This casual restaurant serves some of the best Lebanese cuisine you'll find in Abu Dhabi.  Byblos Sur Mer serves mostly traditional Lebanese dishes, but the expert chefs definitely put their own unique touches on it.  There are a number of salads like fatouch and tabouleh, cold mezzeh, hot mezzeh, and flavorful grills with shish taouk, shish kebab, and lamb kebab.  Byblos Sur Mer also has an outstanding dessert menu.  Byblos Sur Mer is open from noon until 2AM; on Friday & Saturday they're open until 3AM.

Mai Café

Mai Café is a moderately priced contemporary café in the Aloft Abu Dhabi Hotel.  The ambience is warm and the staff is very accommodating.  Live musicians often grace Mai Café and play a variety of music, depending on the night, but it's never loud and obnoxious.  This is a relaxing poolside restaurant where you can find excellent refreshing drinks and great food.  Some of the food items include pizza dishes, shrimp, sandwiches, and plenty of barbecue, all with a Mediterranean twist.  Mai Café is open for lunch and dinner.

Things to do in Abu Dhabi in November

Ferrari World

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is the first Ferrari-themed park in the world and is enjoyable for everyone in the family.  There are a number of rides of all types and speeds, including the fastest roller coaster in the world.  The Formula Rossa ride reaches speeds of 240 km/h and isn't for the faint-hearted.  You'll also find a fun go-kart track, children's rides, and simulators throughout this large park.  Ferrari World also has automotive displays showing off the Ferrari assembly process, and cinemas with numerous documentary movies.  Ferrari World is open on Saturday from 11AM to 11PM, Sunday through Wednesday from 11AM to 6PM, and Thursday & Friday from 11AM to midnight.

Abu Dhabi Big Bus Tours

Not sure what to see in Abu Dhabi?  The Big Bus Tours are there to help you out.  These large open-top buses offer a variety of opportunities for you to see the best of Abu Dhabi.  You can stay on the bus and listen to the pre-recorded commentary, recorded in eight different languages.  Your tickets will also give you the opportunity to hop off and hop back on throughout the day, letting you explore the sites at your own pace.  The Big Bus Tour tickets also give you discounted, and sometimes free, entrance to other sites in Abu Dhabi like cruises, the Observation Deck at 300, and the Wahat Al Karama memorial.

Abu Dhabi's Architectural Wonders

A number of the biggest modern architectural wonders can be found in Abu Dhabi, and you'd be missing out if you didn't set aside some time to see them.  There's the Aldar Headquarters building, dubbed the first circular skyscraper in the world, a massive circular building on its side.  The Capital Gate is a leaning skyscraper but it was designed that way the curvy glass building tilts 18 degrees.  And then there's the Sheikh Zayed Bridge, a flowing steel structure evocative of Abu Dhabi's sand dunes.  The bridge is brilliantly lit up at night.  The only one that you can actually spend an entire day in is the Louvre Abu Dhabi, a steel oasis full of stunning art from all over the world.

Eastern Mangroves National Park

Abu Dhabi is home to the expansive Eastern Mangroves National Park and the cooler November temperatures make it a perfect time for exploration by kayak.  Kayaking is one of the best ways to see the park.  You can rent a kayak on your own from a number of outfitters or you can go with a nature guide.  The guides are specifically trained to spot wildlife and know where to go to see the herons, schools of fish, crabs, and other wildlife in the mangroves.  They'll also be able to tell you the importance of these mangroves in how they relate to Abu Dhabi and how they're threatened today.
