Weather
Lovely weather and not too hot averaged about 24 degrees during out mid October stay.I found the ocean a little cool for my liking but still able to swim each day. A prevailing wind did make it seem cooler and the evenings required sleeves and even a light weight jersey/cardigan.
Holiday
Great holiday, very relaxing, excellent food. The market on Saturday morning is a must - don't have breakfast before you go. LBV has a stand there and a cafe in Muri Beach that you must visit. We had delicious meals at Sails, Alberto's, The Kikau Hut and Tamarind House. All highly recommended and well worth the visit. Hire a car or motorbike as they are both very affordable or use the bus system but make sure you get a 10 pass concession card to reduce the cost.
Stayed at the Rarotongan Resort which probably has the best beach on the island, however the resort needs money spent on it to give it a tidy up. The grounds are beautiful and the beach is pristine. Staff generally very helpful and friendly.
Places Recommended
Go to The Mooring Fish Cafe (near Muri) for a fish sandwich from the blue container Yum! And definitely visit those eating places recommended above. The night market in Muri operates Sun/Tues/Wed/Thur (check the season) and have your dinner there - excellent food, best value.
