Gorky Park

April sees the growth of the first set of green leaves and grass, and paves the way for the pretty spring season. During this time of the year, ice-free ponds and waterways are greeted by fouls, and as the month progresses, Moscow sees flocks return en masse. A great place to be during this time would be the Gorky Park, where you can take in the real spirit and freshness of the wonderful weather outside, and soak in some spring sunshine. If lucky, you might just catch the fowls reading their nests for a fresh batch of ducklings at Gorky Park. With this beautiful park stretching along the bank of the Moskwa river which opens up for business in May, it is a great chance to take one of the city's ice breakers to experience an old-school river-boat trip experience.  Every year in Moscow, April 30th is celebrated as Give or take day where a spectacular collection of fountains at the All-Russia Exhibition Centre marks the arrival of the warm weather.

Another great place to visit during the onset of the spring is the Zaryadye Park. This is a landscape urban park located in the city's centre near the Red Square. Connected to the old buildings and churches along the way, this gorgeous park is a great city space built with wonderful attention to detail. The park has an amazing bridge built right on top of the Moscow river. The bridge has seats all along its length and offers spectacular, relaxing views of the Kremlin and the St. Basil's Cathedral.
