Kemer Weather August Averages, Turkey
Located on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey in an area known as the Turkish Riviera, Kemer is a popular holiday resort thanks to its beautiful beaches, picture-perfect mountain scenery and of, course, its idyllic weather. Like much of Turkey, it experiences a typical Mediterranean climate with long, hot summers and mild winters.
August is a hot month in Kemer. In fact, along with July, it is the hottest month of the year.
The weather in August is perfect for those who love the beach, with average temperatures of 27°C and highs that can reach up to a sizzling 33°C during the day. Luckily, sea breezes will make things feel a little more comfortable, especially by the coast, but tourists should make sure to wear plenty of sun protection and stay out of the sun during peak hours.
Nights are cooler in the resort as temperatures drop a little after dark. Average lows are a pleasant 20°C which is more than warm enough for eating and drinking outdoors at any time in the evening.
If you want to take a dip in Kemer's crystal clear waters, August is the perfect time to do it as the sea is at its warmest. The average sea temperature is a very warm 28°C which will feel almost bath-like. It also provides perfect conditions for water sports, which are popular in the resort.
Also perfect for the beach is the generous amount of sunshine you'll experience in Kemer in August. One of the sunniest months of the year, there are around 13 hours of brilliant sunshine every day and a 94% chance of a sunny day, so you're almost guaranteed a golden tan.
Just like July, August is extremely dry in the resort and there's only a tiny 1% chance of rain. The month sees just 5mm of rainfall which is negligible and not worth worrying about.
All in all, the weather in August is near to perfect and very predictable, though you can check the local weather forecast before you travel for more up-to-date information.
Kemer has a myriad of great accommodation options to suit every traveler, whether you're looking for a luxury resort or a budget hotel.

For an affordable holiday in Kemer, Belport Beach Hotel is one of the best budget hotels in the resort. Located by the beach, the hotel features a large pool area, a children's playground and air-conditioned rooms. Delicious Turkish and international dishes are served in the hotel's restaurant.
There's no better place to be in August than on one of Kemer's many beaches where you can soak up the sunshine and splash around in the warm waters.
The main beach in Kemer is Moonlight Beach which is located at the centre of the resort, but during peak tourist season it can get rather crowded and space is at a premium. If you prefer a more peaceful beach scene, head outside of Kemer to Olympos Beach in the ancient Lycian city of Olympos.
Olympos Beach is quite secluded and one of the most beautiful beaches on the coast of Turkey. Sitting in a cove backed by mountains and trees, the beach is perfect for sunbathers and swimmers, with soft golden sand and shallow waters.
Travelers to Kemer will find many great restaurants and cafés that line the coastline and promenade area of the town.
A popular spot is Bahama's Cafe Restaurant where you can get everything from a hearty breakfast to a delicious evening meal. The menu features a range of cuisines from traditional Turkish dishes to Italian, Mediterranean and European fare. With a pretty tree-lined terrace, it's a lovely place to dine on warm summer evenings in Kemer.
For a unique dining experience, head to Panorama Restaurant in nearby Tekirova. Located high up on the mountainside, this special venue offers breath-taking views over the town below. Much of the food is cooked on the outdoor grill, from fresh fish and meat to chargrilled vegetables.
Last but not least, Selale Restaurant allows you to dine in an unusual setting surrounded by nature. The outdoor restaurant features tables and seating areas nestled between trees and suspended across the river that runs through the centre of it. The food focuses on fresh seafood, with stand-out dishes such as grilled trout.
As the weather is so perfect in August, the best place to be is outdoors. If you've spent enough time lounging by the pool or on the beach, there are many other fun outdoor activities to take part in while holidaying in Kemer.
Parasailing is a popular adventure activity on the beaches of Kemer, but only for those who aren't afraid of heights! There are many professional companies who offer safe and affordable parasailing experiences in the resort. Taking off from a boat, you'll get a wonderful birds-eye view of Kemer and beyond from up in the air.
Families may be interested in the Korprulu Canyon National Park rafting excursions. This beautiful natural area is a popular destination for watersports and is easily accessible from Kemer. For anywhere from one to six hours, tourists can raft down one of three different rivers: the Korprulu, the Dim, or the Alara.
