Fethiye Weather March Averages, Turkey
What's the weather like in Fethiye in March
Like January and February, the beginning of March is pretty rainy with 9 days of rainfall on average. As the saying goes, though, March weather in Fethiye, Turkey, comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb with the rain and cold turning dry and comfortable as the month goes on.
Not only the amount of sunshine increases; the temperatures do too. March has an average day temperature of 13°C, two degrees more than February. The average afternoon high temperature is now 16°C, while the nighttime low temperature averages 9°C. Both high and low temperatures increase in the course of the month, respectively with 3 and 2 degrees.
The average precipitation in March is 77mm, which is much less than earlier months. By the end of March, Fethiye is a fabulous place to visit. The probability of rainfall decreases slightly in the course of the month. March 1 is the wettest day with a 39% chance that it will rain; March 31 is the driest day with a chance of rainfall of 34%. As was the case during the previous winter months, there are three main types of precipitation. Thunderstorms are most common and occur on 49% of all rainy days. Light rain and moderate rain happen as well, respectively on 32% and 18% of the days with rainfall.
The length of the days keeps on increasing in the course of March. The days lengthen from 11.24 daylight hours in the beginning of the month to 12.34 hours of daylight at the end. On top of the longer days, the skies tend to clear as March progresses, from 70% of cloud cover to 62% of cloud cover.
These two factors influence the amount of sunshine that the resort receives. March again has 10 hours of sunshine per day on average, a number that was last recorded in October. It can therefore be concluded that most of the days in March are quite sunny.
The sea temperature, however, remains at its annual minimum of 16°C in March. It won't be suitable for swimming for a couple of months.
Due to this beautiful weather, especially at the end of the month, Fethiye is a common place for people to spend their holidays.
In fact, spring is one of the most common times for tourists to visit Fethiye due to the perfect temperatures which are far more bearable than the severe heat that can accompany the summer months and the severe cold that can accompany winter nights.
