In 12 years , of taking my holidays in Torrevieja , I have only experienced one heavy day of rainfall .
Last year I went for 9 weeks , the temp was around 80 degrees for 50 days , and not 1 drop of rainfall .
We are due to go again on the 23rd September possibly this time for 6 months , YES ! we do have an apartment there , and have enjoyed each visit , with such friendly , neighbours , and Spanish hospitality .
Susan Gage .
Holiday
Wonderful , lazy , chilled , entertaining ! and carefree .
Places Recommended
Mostly we do local !
But the last 3 visits , have flown to Barcelona , Madrid and valencia !
The flights only 28 euro , from Bristol .
The train service , is the best we have travelled , via all to Alicante . Guadalest , Murcia , and Guadamar .Spain is vast , and can only say give it a go .

The weather was very warm didn't need a cardigan or jacket in the daytime.
However it did get a bit chilly in the evening so a light jacket will be needed.
Holiday
We stayed with relatives, so we were very comfortable.
I did notice lots of hotels in and around Torrevieja which looked very nice.
Lots of places to eat and some good Chinese restaurants.
Lots to do lovely beaches even in Dec/Jan,
Places Recommended
La Mata
The Salt Lakes which have lots of flamingos.
Torrevieja town centre.
Boat trips from the marina .
If you have a car it only takes just over a couple of hours to Benidorm .

Generally warm. What little rain there is goes as quickly as it comes and, being by the sea, it's doesn't get as stuffy as in the cities.
Holiday
Like most Spanish resorts on the east coast, there are areas that are undoubtedly "Brits Abroad" specials but if you are brave, there are plenty of small out of the way restaurants and bars to try out your Spanish, which is always appreciated.
I always stay in the Orbi Playa apartments (thanks to Su at TorreRentals) in Los Locos. Beachfront with more than adequate facilities if you prefer to eat in.
Fantastic beaches whether you are looking to baste yourself or as in my case, walk for miles, stopping for the odd cerveza!
I love the late evenings where the elderly are given the respect and sit and chat whilst the children playing are everybody's responsibility.

Torrevieja is best known for it's salt lakes, teeming with wildlife.
Alicante is a great city and Carthagena and the surrounding areas are gems of classical culture.
A car is helpful if you wish to travel further afield, but if you are looking for a chilled holiday with a largely flat aspect (for those with mobility issues) this is the place.
Arthritis sufferers rave about the medicinal effect of the micro-climate created by proximity to the salt lakes.
If you are around on June 21st 2012, you can even come and support the Canterbury Christ Church University Big Band at the Teatro Municipal, or if you prefer choirs, there's the world famous Habaneras Festival July 23-29th. Enjoy!

Excellent in April/May: not too hot and there is very little rain.
October/November temperatures are still in the mid twenties with the odd thunderstorm, which can be a blessing
Holiday
Always relaxing. As we have been going twice a year for the last five years,we settle in straight away and it's relax mode all the way. Very good value locally.

Nearby Carthegena is a marvelous sight and the naval base: a beautiful Moorish Walled City.

Weather
We visit this area many times a year. Whilst you can catch a little rain it is short lived and generally warm from February through to October.
The kids have swam in the sea in winter (rather them than me) but in summer the sea is fanastic. We 50 year olds even braved it in October and it was like taking a bath.
Holiday
This place is great for young and old alike. Good shops and market if you are into that.
Public transport is very good and cheap. Easy access to/from 2 airports.
Places Recommended
I would recommend this area, but make sure you go to 'true' torrevieja, as there are many new developments extending miles away from the centre which require taxi or long bus journeys to get to the centre.

The Friday market was brill and massive, too big too cover you need to go early in the morning though.
The people were friendly we had a great holiday .
Lots of things and places to see but they are all a bit of a way apart.
The main big shopping plaza was a taxi ride from the sea front.
Nice food : not too many people badgering you to buy, pretty leisurely and laid back.
