Additional Informaton

You can bring an umbrella, but you might want to wait and get one while you're here because as soon the first drops of rain hit the street, you'll find them sold everywhere you look. You'll also see people handing out uchiwa fans for promos, grab some of those to make the heat a bit more bearable.

Tokyo Hotels in June

Shinagawa Prince Hotel

Boasting 15 food and beverage options, 2 swimming pools, and its own aquarium, Shinagawa Prince Hotel is right next to JR Shinagawa Train Station, from where Haneda Airport is only a 25-minute train ride away. This 39-storey hotel offers beautiful Tokyo views and free WiFi throughout the entire property. The air-conditioned rooms at Shinagawa Prince Hotel have a fridge and an en suite bathroom with a bathtub and shower booth. Free toiletries and a hairdryer are provided. Guests will also find a personal locker in the room.

Granbell Hotel

Opened in December 2013 and situated right at the heart of the lively Kabuki-cho area in Shinjuku, Granbell Hotel offers modern and stylish guest rooms with unique design concepts. The property added new rooms in December of 2016. Higashi-shinjuku Subway Station is just a 4-minute walk away, while JR Shinjuku Station East Exit is a 15-minute walk from the property. Bars and Restaurants

Robot Restaurant

You simply must try Robot Restaurant - the name is somewhat misleading nobody goes to this Kabukicho wonderland for the food (think convenience store-style bento boxes). If, however, you're more into disco-dancing 'borgs, battling bikini babes and gilded toilets, this is exactly the place for you!

Alcatraz ER

As far as disturbing theme restaurants go, Alcatraz ER has to be close to the top: a prison hospital recreated inside a slightly run-down office building in the middle of Shibuya's love hotel district, Alcatraz delights patrons with everything from drinks served in urine bottles and syringes to creepy nurse waitresses.

Takzawa

For something slightly more civilized, try Takzawa. The elaborate and inventive cooking is illustrated by a ratatouille of 15 vegetables as a little terrine. In another dish assorted vegetables are harvested from a "soil" of breadcrumbs by the diner.

Things to do in Tokyo in June

Sanno Festival

Sanno Festival is one of Tokyo's most famous and takes place in mid-June in even numbered years, alternating with the Kanda Festival. It features a long parade that runs for more than 15 miles through the streets of central Tokyo. Many choose to visit this when on holiday in Tokyo.

Hydrangea Festival

The Hydrangea Festival is held at Hakusan Jinja Shrine in early to mid-June. A number of street stands sell hydrangea planters and all types of other festive items along the approach to the shrine to welcome visitors.
