Meiji Jingu Shrine

Bunkyo Plum Festival

Senso-ji

Sensō-ji is an ancient Buddhist temple located in Asakusa, Tokyo, Japan. It is Tokyo's oldest temple, and one of its most significant. Formerly associated with the Tendai sect of Buddhism, it became independent after World War II. Many tourists due to visit the temple, and January is a good time to choose due to being less busy.

Yokohama Chinese Spring Festival

Chinese New Year is known as the Spring Festival in China, and the celebrations in Yokohama are the biggest in Japan. The two-week festival kicks off with a countdown party the night before, followed by a Lion Dance and traditional performances in Yamashita-cho Park (the small park in Chinatown; not the waterfront Yamashita Park)

Bunkyo Plum Festival

7th February 2019 to 7th March 2019

One of the five flower festivals of Bunkyo Ward, the Plum Festival (Ume Matsuri) takes place at Yushima Tenmangu Shrine near the south end of Ueno Park. There are about 300 plum trees in the shrine’s grounds (80% of which are white plum trees) which attract over 400,000 visitors each year over the course of the week.
