On the other hand, the metropolis is somewhat sheltered from these storms, which tend to bring abundance of rainfall and flooding.

Japan is a country very susceptible to earthquakes because of the nearness of North American, Eurasian, Philippine and Pacific tectonic plates. These natural hazards may occur anywhere and anytime. And this Japanese metropolis is located in one of the most seismically active zones in the world. Still, most earthquakes that take place in Japan aren't dangerous.
