Temperature

On average, July is the hottest month of the year in Las VegasUSA. Throughout the month, the average temperature for the is 34°C (created by highs of 41°C and lows of 23°C), compared to August, which has an average temperature of around 33°C.

Although it only happens on an average of once every ten days, temperatures can sometimes rise above 43°C and fall below 23°C in Las Vegas in July. The highest temperature ever recorded in the city in July is 47°C, whilst the coldest temperature ever recorded in the city during this month is 18°C.

With average temperatures as scorching as these, July in Las Vegas is only suitable for holidaymakers who love the sunshine and the heat.

If you're planning on visiting the city at this time of year, you're best off avoiding the middle of the month when the temperatures are at their highest and visiting either at the beginning or the end of July, when the temperature is a couple of degrees cooler.

Either way, you'll need to pack plenty of light and airy clothing to keep you cool, as well as swimming gear and loads of suntan cream if you plan on spending some time by the swimming pool.

If you don't enjoy hours of sunshine and scorching temperatures, you're best off forgetting about Las Vegas in July and visiting during one of the cooler autumn months, like October.

Rain

The probability of rainfall occurring on an average day in Las Vegas increases as the month develops, making the time around July 1st the best time to go if you want to avoid a rain shower. The likelihood of precipitation starts off at 9% on July 1st increasing to 11% by July 11th and reaching its peak at 13% on July 28th.

The most common types of precipitation you can expect to experience during your holiday in Las Vegas in July are thunderstorms, light rain and moderate rain. Over the course of the month, the city receives an average of 9mm/0 inches of rainfall which is divided between four rainy days.

Grasshoppers 

July 2019 is seeing swarms of grasshoppers invading the city. The bugs are around an inch-and-a-half long and the National Weather Service is even able to identify them on their Radar. This was due to a wetter than normal winter.

The comprehensive menu offers a selection of hot and cold appetisers, char-broiled steaks, speciality dishes and seafood, as well as a handful of homemade desserts.

Commonwealth

When it comes to a modern speakeasy type of bar, you can't beat the Commonwealth. Located in Downtown Las Vegas and open 6pm-2am from Wednesday to Friday and from 8pm until 2am on Saturdays and Sundays, this bar boasts live music performances on the rooftop and an exclusive invite-only lounge for the ultimate private parties. Although there is a wide variety of drinks available, emphasis is put on cocktails and if you want to be guaranteed a seat, you're advised to make a reservation.

VDKA

If you've got a taste for vodka, don't pass up the opportunity to visit VDKA during your holiday in Las Vegas. Situated within the Wynn Hotel Las Vegas, this bar serves up 150 different variations of vodka, including bacon and peanut butter! You can choose to drink the vodkas straight, on the rocks or in a cocktail such as a blood orange cosmopolitan or a sugar cookie martini. VDKA is open every night from 6pm until late.

Things to do in Las Vegas in July

Boyz II Men

Boyz II Men is one of the most popular shows in Las Vegas. Held at the Terry Fator Theatre inside the Mirage Hotel and Casino at 7.30pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, this show sees the Grammy Award winning R&B group take to the stage to perform classics such as "Water Runs Dry", "On Bended Knee" and "End of the Road".

You can choose to buy an ordinary show-only ticket to see the trio play or book a VIP package, which includes first, second or third row seats guaranteed, commemorative VIP lanyard and a free photo of you with Boys II Men.

Wee Kirk Las Vegas Wedding Chapel

Since it's such a popular place to get married, Vegas is packed full of wedding chapels. The Wee Kirk Las Vegas Wedding Chapel is the original Las Vegas chapel which opened in 1940. Here you can choose to get married or renew your vows during one of the two basic wedding packages or the four deluxe wedding packages.

For a traditional Las Vegas-style wedding, there are also seven Elvis wedding packages available. The Week Kirk Las Vegas Wedding Chapel can provide as many or as few services as you need, from hair, makeup and outfits to the marriage license, limo and flowers.

Hypnosis Unleashed

If you've never seen a hypnotist before, make sure you catch the Hypnosis Unleashed show during your holiday in Las Vegas. This performance is the longest running show on the Las Vegas strip and takes place every night at 7.30pm at the Hooters Casino Hotel.

Interaction plays a huge part in the show, so if you're not up for being hypnotised yourself, you might want to consider sitting at the back to avoid being selected. By combining comedy and genuine hypnosis, certified hypnotherapist Kevin Lepine convinces participants that they've lost body parts and turned into celebrities, all for the fun of the audience.

Vegas Indoor Skydiving

For a thrill unlike any other, visit Vegas Indoor Skydiving. This is America's very first indoor skydiving facility, built in 1982, and is found along Convention Center Drive, open every day from 9.45am until 8pm. There are special experiences for first time fliers, are well as other packages available for people who've done this before.

If you choose to skydive in a group, you'll even get a commemorative DVD to remind you of your day. Although there is no restriction on age, there are limits on weight and height, so make sure you check the website before you go.

High Roller

The High Roller is another attraction to consider if you've got a head for heights. Located on the main strip of Las Vegas, this impressive structured opened in 2014 and currently ranks as the largest ferris wheel in the world, reaching a dizzying 167 metres at its peak. The ride lasts for 30 minutes and makes for breathtaking views at nights as you take in the bright lights of the city.
