Weather
My husband and I went in June, I have been many times but my husband's first visit he fell in love with Northern Cyprus just like myself. The weather was lovely and hot but quite windy which I have never experienced here before not even in September. The windy weather lasted the whole two weeks we were there which at times was very welcome because of the heat!
Holiday
Fantastic. We stayed in the lovely village of Lapta, and stayed at the beautiful Chateau Lambousa, the bedrooms were gorgeous, the pool area is stunning,a really peaceful relaxing place. There are plenty of lovely restaurants across the road with there own private beaches which during the day you can use their facilities free of charge as long as you eat or drink there which we tried and were all very good, plus the fact its easy to go to Kyrenia. We can't wait to go next year, will give Chateau Lambousa another try as it is so beautiful.
Places Recommended
St Hilarion Castle is lovely to go visit, Nicosia is a good day out but my favourite is The Karpas Penninsula, just beautiful, sandy beaches, blue seas, great to sit in one of the little cafes and chill out.

Weather
The weather in Kyrenia and Famagusta is good from May. September is a good month to go as its still hot and sunny.
Holiday
I have been twice now, once to the Hideaway Hotel and once to the Arkin Palm Beach in Famagusta.
I'm going back for a third time tomorrow, this time to the Ship Inn in Kyrenia.

You must try and visit all of North Cyprus:
Especially the Karpaz Peninsula, it's so beautiful.

Weather
The first weeks of May were exceptionally wet. Thunderstorms all over. This is quite unusual for this month. After that until today, 23 May,,the weather was lovely. Forecast is also excellent. Sunny, warm, no rain.
Holiday
Kyrenia is a friendly town with lots of nice places for a meal or a drink. The harbour area is charming. The castle worth a visit. Rent a car to see something of the island. Kyrenia won't keep you in awe for more than a couple days.
Places Recommended
Bellapais, kyrenia castle, hillarion castle, beach at turtle bay.
If you have a car: Famagusta old town, The natural beauty of the wild eastern part of nirthern Cyprus. Spend an afternoon in Nicosia and cross the border to the South.

Weather
The weather is dependent what month you are there but can vary between 24/25c in May, up to 30/35c in August.
Holiday
Having stayed in various parts of Kyrenia from the Colony Hotel and self catering villas in the mountains, I can say all are maintained to a high standard.
Never failed to enjoy my time in Northern Cyprus. Everyone aims to please as they appreciate you coming to the Island and they try their hardest to make it a good experience.
It's not over commercialised. It isn't a concrete jungle and is just simple and pleasant.
Wouldn't necessarily be for the real younger end of the generation who visit Aiya Napa and other resorts in the South.
Places Recommended
The Karpas is a must but you will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle.
Hilarion Castle which is perched on top of the mountain range overlooking Kyrenia.
Bellapaise is a lovely tourist village either to stay or visit.
Lapta has lots of different hotels and children's playgrounds.
The castle in Kyrenia Harbour is a must, before or after walking around the harbour, which has lots of restaurants.
Niazis restaurant is a must (which is near the Dome Hotel).
Lots of boat trips out everyday morning, afternoon and some evening trips.
Hiring a car is very easy in Northern Cyprus as you drive on the left hand side.
Cars aren't always new as they do not have the big car hire companies operating locally so they all tend to be small independents.
This means the cars can be hit or miss as to how reliable they are, but they do tend to be quick to come out to sort out problems.
Telephoning is expensive so use local turkcell for phones or skype.

Weather
I have holidayed near Kyrenia for the past 10 years. We have spent the last four Christmas's there and the weather has been very mild with only the occasional rain.
We normally go May, which is quite warm and September as well which is still warmer than our summers.
Even in February which is normally the wet month we have had days of non stop sunshine.
Holiday
Northern Cyprus is a fabulous place to go for a holiday.
The view from the harbour in Kyrenia is second to none.
The locals are very friendly and the food is fantastic as I can truthfully say in 10 years I have never had a bad meal.
If you like water sports there is plenty available, and a day out on one of the boats that sail from the harbour should not be missed.
Places Recommended
Spend a day in the Karpaz, now the new road is open it will take a little over three hours to reach the long sandy beaches and see the donkeys.
Bellapais Monastery is another must as is the castle.
Recommended restaurants are Kyrenia Tavern excellent local food, The Fez for entertainment and the Malpas for the Casino.

Weather
The weather was 'perfect'!
Although on one day I did have to make a visit to Istanbul and in the evening, on my return, I was told they had had a thunderstorm, and had seen rain for the first time in 4 months!
I was sceptical and obviously asked for proof, but there was none left, so had to take my partners word!
This was around Alsancak, to the west of Kyrenia, and I understood was fairly localised.
Other than that the temperatures were great and, aided by a gentle westerly breeze, were ideal for our purpose, that is sitting by the pool, relaxing, taking a frequent dip to cool down, and then resuming the unadulterated sun worshipping!
Holiday
I loved the holiday, aided by the fact that we had some friends who had recently moved there to live,so we were shown around by them and met other expats who have moved there and had a varied social life.
Many of the people we met who now live there, are aware that prices have shot up and it is not easy for them, if they had budgeted within a set income. This feeling that the cost of living has increased was a common reaction amongst all people who have chosen to move there.
My view of Alsancak the area where we were staying is basically that it is not pretty.
Everything revolves around the busy main road that runs west to east along the coast and if you require a beach you have to venture off this road to find one.
There are a few, but all require payment. Escape is one of the busy and commercial ones and whereas the charge for the bed etc. is reasonable, they do sting you for drinks that you have to buy within there facility.
I wish we had found and tried the beach at Demizkize earlier in our holiday.

Weather
Fantastic weather, hot, hot, hot can be dangerous to be out in the sun for too long, the sea was at boiling point, and not a single cloud in sight, how the tarmac doesn't melt is beyond me.
Holiday
Great accommodation and our very friendly Cypriot hosts went out of their way to make it a holiday experience of a lifetime, so much to do we will have to return and see more especially the Karpaz peninsula which we did'nt have time to visit.
We found some excellent restaurants and the Meze is a great evening meal (so many choices) and all with a taste of the island.
Places Recommended
Kervansary is a must for a sun downer, Sabor in Kyrenia has excellent food and Niazi's for that full kebab experience.

Weather
It was strange to go through different stages of hot weather throughout the day, we started in Larnaca which is south facing and was a good 38 degrees in the shade, then to Nicosia and the border crossing which was about 42 in the shade and the drove to Kyrenia north facing which was a pleasant 36 degress in the shade, in general the whole island is an inferno and out of the shade bloody unpleasant, but in the shade or with the luxury of air-con you can enjoy all the trips on offer.
Holiday
it was a fantastic two weeks, we had read about the "Cyprus problem" and as neutrals had no reason to take sides or question each cultures motives. we moved freely from one border to the next and met Cypriots who were all friendly and helpful, maybe a bit naive but we didn't question who or where they where from, we just guessed that they spoke a different language like the Celts and the Saxons, not many miles apart but hard to understand non the less, but both with one goal and that was to make you feel welcome in their homeland.
Places Recommended
Kyrenia/Girne castle is a most as is its harbour.
Paphos castle is fantastic as well.
It is very difficult to recommend a particular part of the island as they have preserved its history throughout.
Activities included paragliding, zoos, museums, ruins, pretty much everything you need to see to have an insight into the history of the island and the east mediterranean.
