Autumn is in the air in Jandia as October rolls around.  This resort town on a peninsula on the south coast of Fuerteventura in Spain's Canary Islands enjoys quite enjoyable weather all-year round, but October sees temperatures decrease a tiny bit and rainfall increase.

However, while the air temperatures start cooling off slightly, the sea temperature remains at its annual hight has been since September. The daily weather is generally dry and reliably sunny. October is a great time for outdoor activities and visiting tourist attractions. In the afternoons, you can enjoy an average high temperature of 25°C, while at night, the mercury doesn't fall lower than the average low of 20°C. Those temperatures make October the third warmest month of the year, after August and September. They both do decrease by about two degrees in the course of the month, though, as the weather moves toward the cooler winter season. The average daily temperature is 23°C.

There is a minimal amount of rainfall during the month. During the month of September, prolonged dry spells are normal and the total amount of rainfall is 10mm, which is spread out over 3 days with precipitation. These numbers are incredibly low for this time of year, especially when compared with the wet weather conditions in the United Kingdom in October. With that in mind, consider the fact that there are no fewer than six months in Jandia that are even drier than this! This is a very dry destination all-year long, which is why it's so popular. The chance of rainfall does increase in the course of the month, though, from 9% to 14%, which are both numbers that are quite low. If it does rain, it will most likely be only drizzlehis is experienced on 50% of the days with rainfall. Other possible types are light rain and moderate rain, respectively occurring on 24% and 22% of those days with rainfall.

The typical day in September has 10 hours of bright sunshine on average. This is the same as it was in September. November will be a bit less sunny, with 9 hours of sunshine left. This, however, is almost ridiculously sunny for a month in the middle of autumn.

Cloud cover increases in the course of the month. It climbs from 41% to 47%, which means that the sky remains essentially partly cloudy throughout the month, with plenty of space for sunshine to peak through, as is shown in the high number of daily sunshine hours.

September is a great month for visiting the islands because of the warm, dry weather. Autumn is a popular time for tourists to visit the area. Because of this ideal weather, October is a prime time for nature walks, off-road tours, visiting historic sites and tourist attractions, as well as swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling and participating in various water sports. The weather is also very suitable for fishing, boating and sailing. A sea breeze is often present, which only improves sailing conditions and even offers a cooling down effect during the hottest time of the day.

If you're planning to visit Jandia, or another resort on the Canary Islands, you might want to check out the weather forecast before you take off. You can do exactly that on this detailed weather forecast page.

Accommodations in Jandia are plentiful and you won't have any trouble finding a nice room in October, the low season. Casa Atlantica is conveniently situated no more than 350 metres from the Subcat Submarine, the Jandia golf course and beautiful Cofete Beach. Other popular attractions, such as Matorral Beach lie within two kilometres from the hotelbout a half-hour walk away. La Lajita Oasis Park is located about 4.5 kilometres away. The hotel features affordable, fully furnished apartment style rooms. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, a car rental service, bicycle rentals and an airport shuttle.

Ferienwohnung Jandia Fuerteventura is located in Morro Jable and offers accommodations about 5 kilometres from Esquinzo Beach. These are excellent, well-equipped holiday apartments and cottages that you can rent. For a private stay in your own apartment or even house, often featuring an outdoor pool, this is the place to look!

The ocean temperature averages 22°C, which is the warmest of the entire yearelightful swimming conditions, in other words. There are plenty of beaches throughout Jandia and the Canary Islands. Two of the popular local beaches are Cofete Beach and Esquinzo Beach. There are many hotels and restaurants within walking distance of these beaches.

Cofete Beach is not suitable for swimming as the waves are always very high and it is always breezy. Because of the high waves and strong current, bathing is not permitted. It is a deserted, solitary and lonely looking beach that has magnificent views of the high mountainsxcellent for walks and sunbathing.

With long beaches that have fine, light colored sand and beautiful clean, clear water, there is plenty of room for sunbathing and relaxing. There are many beaches that are popular for just various water sports. Some beaches are more suited for family activities, while there are also some beaches that permit naturism.

Because the tide can have a significant impact on the size of the beach, you need to check the tides when planning your visit to the beach. A beach that appears to be large and spacious during low tide can be small and cramped during high tide.

Jandia has plenty of establishments for fine dining. There are menus that have choices that are suitable for any taste. In Morro Jable, there are traditional restaurants and those that specialize in seafood. The seafood restaurants serve up the real deal, red snapper, skate and octopus plus plenty more seafood options. Other popular dishes include sweet island potatoes soaked in spicy sauce, tapas and more.

You can definitely stay busy on a holiday to Fuerteventura and Jandia. Goleta Paradise offers luxury half-day cruises. Cruises are on a traditional Turkish schooner named "Paradise." The tour passes desolate cliffs, several harbors and empty beaches. The stylish ship is comfortable with modern comfort. You will have the opportunity to go snorkeling or swimming as well.

Timanfaya National Park is a must-see, as its landscape is dotted by more than 100 volcanoes. Sizzling geysers soar up and you can feel the heat beneath your feet. You can venture to El Golfo to see a large lake tucked away inside a volcano's crater. There are many great excursions you can take on Fuerteventura, and even between the Canary Islands.
