    Jandia Weather for April 2023

    While April is the start for spring, the warming process is rather slow. That's not to say that it's chilly, though, for the temperature are more than comfortable all-year round in Jandia, a popular tourist destination on the south coast of Fuerteventura, one of the islands in the Canary Islands archipelago in Spain.

    The average temperature during April in Jandia is 19°C, which is only one degree higher than it was in the preceding month of March. At night, the average low temperature usually doesn't fall below 16°C. In the afternoon, the mercury climbs to an average high of 21°C, which is absolutely perfect for outdoor activities, such as hiking and cycling. These two temperatures don't vary much in the course of the month.

    April weather is usually sunny and dry, allowing for all kinds of outdoor activities. April rainfall is rare, with a total amount of precipitation of no more than 6mm and merely 2 days with rainfall. This makes it the fifth driest month of the year, after the upcoming four monthsach month in Jandia is quite dry, though, for even the wettest of all months, February, doesn't receive more than 22mm of rainfall in total. It is not uncommon for the month to go one or two weeks straight without any rainfall. The probability that you will experience any type of rainfall decreases from 11% to 8% in the course of the month.     Each day typically has 11 hours of sunshine, which is superbly high. The same number of daily sunshine hours is also seen in MayJune and August. Only July is sunnier, with its 12 hours of sunshine per day.

    Cloud cover ranges around 46% this time of year. This means that the sky is generally partly cloudy in April. Overcast skies are seen only 14% of the time, while you can enjoy completely blue skies 25% of the time.

     The tourist season is not completely underway, so the beaches and tourist attractions aren't overcrowded. It provides a great setting for water sports, such as surfing, jet skiing, snorkeling, swimming, scuba diving and fishing. It is also great weather for sunbathing or just relaxing on the shores.

    April is a great time to visit Jandia. The weather is warm but not too hot for scenic walks, so it is one of the best times of the year to holiday in the area. Basically, the weather is pleasant for all kinds of activities as it is dry, sunny and warm. It is also a great time to travel to nearby islands, such as Lanzarote or Tenerife, or towns to see other attractions. There is limited shade, so sun protection should be worn. Sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses and hats are highly recommended. April is a great time for holidays for romantic getaways or for family travel to Jandia.

    There are resorts and hotels located throughout Jandia. Sentido Buganvilla Hotel & Spa is an all-inclusive hotel that is located just 1.4 kilometres to the south of Jandia Natural Park. The hotel overlooks the beach, and has rooms that are traditional, but bright. There are also some suites that have separate living rooms. The hotel has two restaurants, a terrace and a relaxed café/bar.

    Faro Jandia is an all-inclusive upscale hotel that is a three-minute walk from Morro Jable Lighthouse. A buffet restaurant in the hotel serves free buffet breakfasts and dinners. There is a bar, a theatre with live entertainment, two outdoor pools, a hot tub, spa with Turkish bath, tennis courts, rifle shooting, mini golf and morelenty to keep you occupied and entertainment during your stay in April.

    Jandia Beach offers ample opportunity for sunbathing, relaxation and swimming. Water sports are also popular, including scuba diving, fishing, jet skiing, parasailing, boating and sailing.  During April, the water temperature is warm enough9°C on averageor water sports. With the sunny days, it is an excellent time for beach strolls and seashell collecting.

    The peninsula's beach runs from Costa Calma to Morro Jable reaching about 21 kilometres. Several sections comprise the beach. Playa de Matorral is an ideal location for families with children and is the location of the lighthouse. The sand is fine and light colored, and the sea is clear and shallow, making it an excellent location for enjoying the ocean and beach activities.

    The ocean temperature begins climbing slightly during the month, averaging about 19°C. So, it is an excellent temperature for swimming and other water activities.

    There are a variety of restaurants, bars and clubs in Jandia. Restaurante Coronado is a popular restaurant that also has a bar and lounge. This cosy and welcoming dining venue is a great place to spend the evening with friends or family, or even enjoy a romantic dinner with your other half.

    There are a variety of activities to choose from in Jandia. Pico de la Zarza, the highest mountain in Fuerteventura, provides stunning views of the island and several villages. It is about a five-hour walk, so food, sufficient water and sun protection need to be taken along. This is a marvellous thing to do in April, as the enjoyable temperatures, lots of sunshine and lack of rainfall make it a wonderful month to be outside.

    The Villa Winter is located on the southern part of the island in the basically deserted Cofete. It was once owned by a mysterious man who rumored to have had ties with German wartime leader, General Franco.

    The area can only be reached by foot or on a rough road by four-wheel drive. Cofete, a relatively deserted village a nice drive from Jandia, is a great visit. It is one of the wider beaches and measures about 5 kilometres in length. The village offers magnificent views and historic sites.
