October Weather Averages

Sorted by popularity:

What's the weather like in Hawaii in October

October is considered the last month of the dry season in Hawaii. And while the weather does get wetter than the previous months, there are still lots of good days to be had.

October is a great time to visit Hawaii for those that like to enjoy the heat of a tropical climate, but don't want to suffer from the sweltering conditions and humidity of the peak summer months. And though November will see the start of the wet season in Hawaii, October still offers a beautiful climate.

Temperature and sunshine hours

Expect average temperatures of 27°C throughout the month of October, which are equal to those usually seen in August and September in this part of the world. And with an average of nine hours of sunshine every day, there is plenty of time to enjoy it.

Peak temperatures in October will also reach the same levels as August and September, offering highs that will usually average 29°C. Even night time temperatures will remain constantly high, with average lows usually no colder than 24°C. However an increase in the Trade Winds at this time of the year should ensure there is plenty of cool air to make most nights very comfortable.

Rainfall

The level of rainfall is expected to rise during October, especially as we move towards the wettest month of the year in November. But there are still only likely to be 80mm of rainfall during October in Hawaii. And much of that will be concentrated on the higher altitudes in the north and east of the islands.

Sea Temperature

If there is a period of heavy rain in October then sea temperatures may fall. However for most of the islands, peak temperatures averaging 27°C are likely to continue across the coast. And with some beautiful clear water in many areas, Hawaii offers the perfect location for some October sun.

On any trip to Kauai, don't miss a visit to the wonderful Kalapaki Beach. But as there are no real facilities or lifeguards on the beach, you pretty much have to take care of yourself.
