What's the weather like in Gozo in March?

Spring starts to arrive in Gozo in March, bringing with it longer, warmer days and a greater opportunity to soak up the sun.


Average temperatures for the month of March are expected to rise to approximately 14°C across Gozo. However by the end of the month, as the final signs of winter disappear, it is much more likely for the thermometer to be nearer to 15°C or even more. 

Peak temperatures in March in Gozo have often reached over 17°C, while the highest temperature in recorded history for this first month of spring was a very warm 33.0°C back in March 2001. Night time temperatures also rise during the month, with the average temperature usually dipping no lower than 10°C.


The end of the month marks the end of the winter period and brings with it a much drier and warmer climate in Gozo. The chances of rainfall in March reduce to just 33%, ensuring that two days in every three should be dry. And with only 41mm of rain expected across the entire month, Gozo remains consistently pleasant even on days when there is some rainfall.

March sees the celebration known as the Feast of Joseph on GozoThis annual event, which usually occurs over the third weekend of March centres around the town of Victoria, and lasts the entire weekend.
