Weather

Perfect blue cloudless sky for the whole 2 weeks.
Gorgeous sunshine everyday.
It makes a change to go somewhere where dry season really is exactly that!

Holiday

Loved the weather, the people, the food.
Make sure to have an air conditioned room as it's hot at night and take mosquito repellent such as Deet.
The beach huts are brilliant and a great way to see the place was to hire a Royal Enfield bike.
Everything is so cheap that we brought 1/3 of our spending money home with us!
It's the only country I have ever been on holiday where I wasn't bored with the vegetarian food after a couple of days, the choice is immense!
We booked a package deal to Sinquerim and used that as a base to travel from.

Places Recommended

To eat: A Reverie, Holiday Street, Callungute....the best restaurant I've ever been to!
Palolem Beach, South Goa

Weather

The weather is always lovely and hot in the day, you may sometimes need a shawl or wrap in the evening in January and February as a breeze gets up around 4.00pm and the temperature drops a little the benefit of this is it is cooler for sleeping. .

Holiday

We have been going to Goa for 22 years and have been 24 time so I think you can guess we love the place. We don't always go to the same hotel or resort but as long as we are in Goa that's fine. We went in November 2013 and are going back tomorrow so happy days again, can't wait for that first ''Honey Bee' and coke. Lots of choice of food and restaurants all quite inexpensive the night life varies mostly groups or karaoke.

Places Recommended

We enjoy staying in Candolim the best as we have friends there but a short taxi ride will take you to all the resorts.

It has always been very hot but after a few Kingfisher beers, you'll feel ok.

Holiday

I am going for three weeks and my holiday will be terrific as I have been looking forward for this moment for quite a long time now.
I have stayed at a few different hotels but this is the first time that we have returned to the same hotel in Calangute.

Places Recommended

I will visit Calangute, Candolim, Baga, Mombay, Panjim and maybe Delhi if I can find the time as there is so much to do around the place wherre I am staying.

Weather

The weather was lovely and sunny all the time we were there.

After the first week you start to feel a bit cooler at night because you have got acclimatised.

Holiday

We have been 4 times now, in both February and November.

First time we went we had all inclusive but now we go self catering as it is so cheap to eat and the food is fresh cooked as you want it.

The people are so helpful and friendly, with good memories.

We missed going for 18 months but they still remembered our names when we went back.

Going for a month in February 2010 and can't wait.

We book the flights and accommodation separately and we have got a full month break for less the £2000 plus food.

Places Recommended

Feed the monkeys.

Spice plantation.

See the dolphins.

Parascending.

Mayer's Shack.

Weather

We normally go in late Feb early March, as we have done for the last six years, the weather is always hot.

Wall to wall sunshine, though towards the end you notice the humidity rising.

Holiday

We always arrange our own accommodation and flights separately. This gives us a chance to do what we like, eat when we want etc.

The self catering suits us. The food is so cheap.

You can't beat getting up early one morning taking a long walk on the beach then having breakfast at one of the many beach shacks just watching sea.

We normally stay in South Goa in a resort called Calvalusom.

Places Recommended

Usual haunts are Anjuna market, though I would try Mapusa and Colva night market for a change.

Elephants rides and overnight stay, waterfalls, watersports and boat trips.

Different things to try are the statues at Kanatka and an overnight stay at Happi.

Weather

We go to Goa always in January. The weather is hot during the day but not humid at night, it is quite good.

Holiday

We have been going to Goa for the last 7 years.

We stay at the Mirinaha Dourada in Apora and I would reccomend it to everbody. Its a 4 star with a 5 star taste. All the staff are wonderful and can't do anought for you.

Places Recommended

For really good food I would reccomend the All Spice resteraunt in Apora. And just down the road is Annans for rearly cheap drinks. In Baga there is Bernerds, highly reccomended. Also Kim Fa for excelent Chinese food. The Spice Plantation is a great day out and the night markets are very good.

Weather

Weather was really hot between 40 and 49 degrees everyday. They were having a heat wave at the time though.
Night time was humid.

Holiday

Holiday was amazing the best we have ever had.
The beaches the markets the people the food the nightlife the day trips the taxi drivers everything about Goa is truly amazing.
When you arrive just forget the first things you see and ignore all beggars you will get hassled by them.
Hotel was very very clean and tidy.
Staff there were truly amazing and were so happy to help in anyway they could.
I would have to recommend that you dont go ALL INCLUSIVE as its way to cheap out there.
A bottle of beer roughly £0.45 and a 3 course meal for 2 with roughly 2 cocktails and 4 beers is about £15.
We stayed at the Sun Village Hotel Baga.

Spice Plantation
Sinquerim Beach

Weather

The weather in Goa is second to none,Especially between October/November through till March. If you are thinking of going in April, again it's very hot but very humid.

Holiday

The first time we visited Goa was back march 2004, we have been 5 times since then and and just booked for the 22nd of November, We were told to go their with an open mind by some friends that go for 6 months each year. They told us we would love the place or hate it, At first it's a culture shock, But we loved it and as we said we have been several times. we would recommend it to anyone. try the different foods, and visit the public bar in calangute. Very cheap and very friendly.

Places Recommended

Feni distillery, smelly but good.
Dudh Sagar. Waterfalls.very good take a camera. and bananas for the monkeys.
Tambli Surla Temple. good.

Weather

The weather in November last year 2007 was a bit touch and go earlier in the month but as the hloiday panned out it turned to be very hot.
I agree with other reveiws I have read I have been returning to Goa every year for about 7 years and the population status has risen a tremendous amount due to the cheap living and nice weather but i would still recommend going to Goa to anybody wanting a nice warm holiday.

Holiday

The last time I went to Goa I spent a day at Dona Paula and would reccomend that place to everybody I also went round the temples in old Goa and that also was very good, I would reccomend anybody to take a trip to Morjim Beach A little way from the hustle and bustle of Calangute life lol

Places Recommended

I would recommend anybody to stay at Mahrina Dourahda resort it is so layed back and the people are so polite like every where in Goa

17. Holidays in a changing Goa

Weather

Weather excellent, although unusual for March, we did experience a few downfalls of rain - but early morning. Normally rain not seen at all at this time of year.
Never thought I would say this, but not sure I would recommend Goa any more as it has changed so much. It is about the people, but the popularity of it has resulted in an inability to cope with cleanliness and maintenance.

Holiday

We have visited Goa for last 10 years - sometimes twice a year. We have noticed the changes over the years - Candolim retains the quieter more tranquil touches, whilst Baga/Calangute have become more Spanish resort influenced. This year, the impact of police activity has meant the shacks are limited on their bed allowance. In November when we visited, the shacks at Baga/Calangute did not have licences, so limited service. In Candolim they waited for licences to be issued so construction and service not in operation. We would not visit November again until confident resolved. There is no option for Not Sure on the "would you recommend" option - so have conservatively gone with Yes.

Places Recommended

The usual places - but not via organised trips - get taxi driver for personal and cheaper touch. Waterfalls, spice plantations, elephant riding (bareback if you don't go with the tours....). Depending on your tastes - do the markets. Suggest visiting for experience rather than purchase as prices inflated at Anjuna/Ingos/Mackies. We go for samosa and drink and watch world go by. Can go from Baga/Calangute by boat to Anjuna.

Weather

Fantastic. Sunny for fourteen days. Ave Temp 31c. Be very careful. This is not the Med, you will burn to a crisp if you do too much on the first couple of days.

Holiday

You could not wish for nicer people, Tropical beaches, wonderful food and very very cheap. Hotel very good but do not go below 3 star plus. If you are looking for lots of nightlife forget it. There are some clubs in Calengute but not many. This is a chill out holiday.

Places Recommended

The Hindu Temple's and the spice Plantation is a good day out. Hire a taxi for about £8.00 for the day. Stop at old Goa on the way back and have a look around the Churches. A day out with the monkeys or a cruise on the river and some shoping in Panjim. Sit on the beach and watch the most fantastic sunset you will ever see. Enjoy
