Weather

mI've just returned from a 4 night break in Los Boliches (10th - 14th Nov 2013). The weather was great, averaging 22-24 degrees daily. It was warm enough to sunbathe and swim in the sea. It was windy at night, requiring a cardigan or light jacket if going out and about.
It rained once for 30 minutes one afternoon. We just sat at our cafe until the sun returned and evaporated the rain. Marvellous!

Holiday

I loved our accommodation - 14th floor of the Stella Maris apartments - magnificient panoramic sea view.

Los Boliches has plenty of cafes, shops and tapas bars (all very reasonably priced) - and is only a 10 minutes walk from Fuengirola.

If you fancy a change of scenery, the train and bus services are frequent and cheap compared to the UK e.g. the train from Los Boliches to Malaga Airport was 5.20 euros for 2 adults (one way), a 20 min train ride.

Places Recommended

We went to Marbella on the bus, stopping off at La Cala de Mijas for coffee and cake at the seafront.

We also went up to Mijas Pueblo in the hills by bus (very cheap, only 10-15 mins away from Fuengirola). There are amazing views from Mijas.

Holiday

Excellent,

Plenty of eating places from the al a carte to fish and chips and Macdonald's. Very good fish restaurants along promenade.

Places Recommended

TV World, Benalmadena, easily reached by rail, train stops right outside and grab a ride on the cable car when you are there.Terrific! Aqua Parc easily reached by bus from main street through Fuengirola stretching from railway station to beach. Highlight of trip was the massive roving fair held every year from the 6th October, stays for two weeks, fantastic. Lots of tapas bars around square where fair held. Mini fair for little ones near Marina in Fuengirola.

Weather

we were there for 14 days, weather beautiful and quite hot, not bad for March!! Had 3 days of overcast/cloudy weather, but once this passed we had hot sunshine again.

Holiday

Holiday was fanstastic, very relaxed days browsing around the shop and sitting on the beach front watching the the surfers and the world go by. :)

Places Recommended

The markets are very good in Fuengirola. Try the Tuesday, Saturday markets at the "fairground) and sunday markets (near the bullring) for reasonably cheap goods. Tuesday is a normal market, saturday is a flea market and sunday is again a normal market, but is quite a bit smaller tan the two at the fairground.

For nightlife, I recommend "The London Pub", "The Old Town cafe and bar" and "Pogs" which is an irish bar down the side of the "PYR" hotel. They have live bands at pogs from wedneday through to sunday! Their live resident band, "The Shamrocks" are a covers band and consists of 3 lads and a female vocalist. They cover a wide range of music to suit most, if not all tastes!!

Gibraltar for cheap tax free shopping!! Also a visit up the rock itself is well worth a visit. Once up there you will see the beautiful St. Micheal caves, where they frequently hold concerts (bizarre) and also you will see the wild and semi wild barbary apes....hold onto your belonging though!! :)

We went to benalmadena to the sea life centre, ok for kids but for the money we thought it was very dissapointing as there wasn't that much to see there!! Okay if your REALLY really stuck for something to do, but i doubt you will be!

We took a day excursion to "Cadiz and jerez". In Jerez we visiited "williams and humbert" winery (this is where we get our spansh wines from) they also make brandy and sherry there and you get to do a little wine tasting at the end. While you're there, you will also see a short horse show, which was lovely. We then went onto Cadiz, beautiful place. The trip was definitely worthwhile.

I wouldn't recommend the trip to "Morroco" to anyone. We were quite excited about the trip initially, but we were very disapointed. When we got off the boat, we were taken to a small area where the camels were, from this point on we were completely "Badgered" by the locals to buy cheap/tacky bracelets, T shirts, silly hats etc etc..it got that bad that we started to run away from them and they started running after us! We were then taken into the town where the badgering continued with a venegeance. They will NOT take NO for an answer and continue to hound you. I can honestly say we were hounded non stop and presured to buy, it really ruined the trip for everyone, we coudn't wait to get back on the coach to take us back to the boat, it was exhausting! Is if that wasn't bad enough, the place was filthy and smelt of urine...just horrible. Our trip ended with our guide quickly having to gather the group and RUSH us back onto the coach because an old morrocan lady was cursing us and trying to start a riot or something. I asked our guide "what did the old lady say"?? He said "Very bad, very bad, you all have to go, quick quick"!! What an awful experience it was.

All other excursions I would recommed, just not Morocco!!

Fuengirola is fab though, i have been several times now and I absolutely love it there. It now feels more like home to me than my home back in england! For this reason, i'm hoping to move out there next year!

As an afterthough, I found the best place for booking excursions to be in the little office by the bus station in the centre of Fuengirola. Just ask anyone for the bus station (if you don't know it), once there you will see the boards to the left advertising excursions!

Hope youy found this to be helpful and/or interesting. Enjoy your hols!!

Weather

I went on the 13th april for a week and the weather was bad thunder and rain for most of our holiday and cloud most of the rest.

Holiday

We stayed at Fuengirola beach. The hotel was clean, most staff where great, bar staff was very rude ripping your money out of your hand, kids entertianers where great cant fault them in anyway, the food was very bad i found plastic in my ice cream and our sausages where raw. The reps there where fantastic, outside hotel there is not much there to do, we went to go to the zoo but for 3 children and 2 adults they wanted 75 euros it was very expensive. The castle was good and not far from hotel. We would not go back again.

Weather

During my 14 years holidaying in Fuengirola I have always found beautiful weather during my stay.

Warm temperatures and mild evenings during the months of June/August make for a pleasant holiday.

My trip during Easter 2009 found me with needing "heat" after 5:30PM. During this time of year the evenings are cool and a sweater or fleece would be welcoming for evening walks along the beach of the dinner at a fine resturant.

My second trip was August 16th through September 21st 2009.

Holiday

I have been vacationing in Fuengirola for the 14 years and have found the weather very delightful. My first trip was in September 1995 and I must tell you the truth that I cannot stop going. So much so that I have chosen Fuengirola Spain as my future home for retirement at the end of 2011.

This place is warm and very welcoming. The area is very easy for shopping, theater, transportation by autobus or train, change of currency, clean beaches, and outstanding resturants.

My favorite resturant, "Aroma" owned by John Kelly and it is located along "Fish Alley" in Fuengirola. The presentation of the food, the attention given to one who dines there, the Friday night "classical" entertainment deserves 5 stars plus. You cannot go wrong by dinning there.

I plan to revisit Fuengirola in early September, 2010. My first visit of two weeks has now graduated to one month plus. Being an American, this is a great place to call "home"

Places Recommended

I enjoy visiting Malaga and attending Sunday worship at St. George's Anglican Parish, located in the English Cemetary. There is much history to be learned there and the parishioners are very welcoming.

Weather

I've been to Fuengirola about 12 times now and its only rained once; not bad!! Ive been in June, July, September, November and February and its always been perfect. Im back again on 17 July - I cant keep away!!

The majority of hotels and apartments have air con which you need in July/August as temperatures can get quite high.

Its cools down in an evening but doesnt get that cold to need a jacket or cardigan.

Holiday

My holidays to Fuengirola have varied from going on a hen weekend (which was fantastic) to being with my ex-partner and to holidaying with children.

Fuengirola is ideal for all ages as you can make it suit your requirements as there is plenty to do.

There are restaurants in fish alley which cater for all tastes; the chinese near to the Irish Bar is fantastic and the restaurants at the maina/port are also very good.

If you fancy eating out for breakfast then go to Scoffers - on the front facing the beach not far from the Las Palermas Hotel.

Places Recommended

The market on a Tuesday which is up by the Castle; it used to be at the Port but its been moved.

The Zoo; The Aqua Park; a day out to Benalmadena - go and have a look at the marina. Tivoli World is at Benalmadena as well; have a go on the cable car.

Shopping; if you love shopping then there are plenty of shops to choose from.
