At the end of October or beginning of November look out for the Chestnut festivity in Prases and Elos. The Tsikoudia festivities also take place during November in several locations across Crete including Neoria - Chania, Loutraki Kidonias, Kandano and at the Lake of Platanias. Tsikoudia is the traditional Cretan alcoholic beverage, it's crystal-clear and very strong, produced by twice (sometimes thrice) distilled wine and is much loved by locals and tourists alike.
