    Temperature

September is officially the end of the summer in Corsica, but that doesn't mean the beautiful weather is gone. The weather is still lovely at this time of year and, in fact, the slightly cooler temperatures are often favoured by travelers who prefer comfort over sizzling heat. Average temperatures drop only slightly, to 19°C, but often still reach into the twenties during the day, with high temperatures of 24°C. Low temperatures are still pleasant too, at just 14°C which is still warm enough to walk around on an evening comfortably, and even eat alfresco.

    Sea Temperature

After the hot summer months, the sea retains its warmth well into September with average temperatures of 23°C. Together with the warm weather, this make the beaches around Corsica's coast very popular for swimmers and water sports enthusiasts, even this late in the season.

    Rainfall

September is slightly wetter than June, July and August on average but still not as wet as the rainy autumn season. It rains about 6 days out of the month, with an average of 44mm of precipitation falling in short showers.

    Sunshine Hours

While the days are starting to get shorter in September, the island is located in one of France's sunniest regions, and there's still an abundance of sunshine to be found at this time of year. Each day sees an average of 9 sunny hours which leaves plenty of time for sunbathing. Find out more about how we calculate these weather averages.

September may surprise tourists with its weather which is perfect for a beach break or a countryside escape. This is the last month of the year when holiday makers can enjoy Corsica's idyllic summer climate before autumn arrives on the island.
