Best kept secret as far as I can tell ! Nice friendly locals, reasonable prices, hardly any brits !! Fabulous free entertainment in town outdoor auditorium, thoroughly charming square surrounded by restaurant , bars , ice cream cafes.

Weather
Weather was fantastic. Every day between 28-33c, gentle breeze, no rain, just the occasional whispy cloud at high level. Breeze died down in the evening so OK in T shirt and shorts all day every day.
Holiday
Very relaxing. It is not the liveliest of places if you are after clubs and late night revelry. But there are a wide range of restaurants at reasonable prices, especially at lunch time; 'menu of the day' of 3 courses including a drink for 11 Euros in nice restaurants overlooking the beach.
Aguilas is a pretty town (30,000 people) which is big enough to be open all year. Very Spanish; not that many Brits so no all day full English breakfasts and Irish pubs.
Days spent by the pool or on beach; evenings eating on terrace or in a restaurant.
Places Recommended
Mojacar (old town) is interesting though a bit touristy. Lots of beaches and bays between Aguilas and Mojacar, never very busy. Favourite is Los Cocedores as it has a nice cafe/restaurant on the beach.
