The hotel is thoroughly modern throughout, featuring a range of family-friendly facilities. Car and motorbike rentals, boat trips, office needs including WiFi in the rooms, and transportation to and from the airport are all available.
The Kymothoe Elite Apartments, in Akotriri, Tsilivi, are modern apartments with beautiful views from the large balconies and plenty of space within the rooms themselves. Amenities include full sized refrigerator, DVD player, dishwasher and washing machine, not to mention a gorgeous private garden. Although close to Tsivili and Zakynthos; there are no nearby restaurants or bars, so a car is recommended.
Zante Beach for April
Located on the west side of the island, about 4½ miles from Agios, is the cove of Limnionas which is only accessible by hiking down the deep rock formations. It has no sand but is a destination for divers wishing to explore various caves. Since the waters are cool with sea currents and tides, the adventurous explorers should be cautioned.
Porto Zoro beach, located 11 miles from Zakynthos, is a quiet, peaceful beach suitable for swimming. It is sandy with a few areas of pebbles and stones, and some seaweed at the rocky end of the beach. The water is mostly shallow, suitable for children, although it's worth noting that some areas of the beach become deep quite quickly. There are two tavernas located nearby.
Bars and Restaurants
Tazies, situated on the main strip of Kalamaki, offers a wide range of cuisines, from traditional Greek, Italian, and English cooking. Pizzas are excellent, and the chicken gyros are superb. For children who are fussy eaters, hamburgers, chicken nuggets and fish fingers are served. Delivery is available for those staying in Kalamaki.
Diachroniko Traditional Taverna, situated near Volimes, specialises in local Greek dishes, unique to the cooking style of the island. The owners, Danae and Kostas Plessas prepare everything themselves. Their kitchen is supplied by ingredients from the Plessas family farm including vegetables from the garden, seasonal fruits such as watermelons and peaches, fresh meat including lamb, goat and rabbit, wine for their own vineyards, virgin olive oil from the grove, and fresh hand-kneaded bread baked in wood-fired ovens.
Vagi's Taverna, located on the main road in Alykanas, is a European style restaurant serving good food of generous portions. Peppered chicken, vegetable moussaka, and karuso pasta are favorites. Other menu items includes salmon, chicken Alkia crème and crepes. The restaurant comes with a corner reserved for children to occupy themselves while you dine.
Head to Courser Chinese Restaurant if you're looking to take a break from the Greek and Italian-themed eateries on the island. Located in Tsilivi, this favoured restaurant offers friendly service and features a variety of flavoursome and hearty Eastern dishes that diners will be familiar with. Takeaway and delivery are also available if you're holidaying in the area.
Things to do in Zante in April

The 17th century Venetian Fortress at Zakynthos is claimed to have been built at the site of the ancient acropolis Psophidas. Although completed in 1646, frequent earthquakes required constant rebuilding of the military stronghold including enhancements by the British in 1812 as they occupied the island.
The Ampelostrates Farm, located near the mountain village of Koiliomeno, celebrates the local agricultural traditions and heritage. Ride the horses, hike the forest trails, taste the wine at the local vineyard, and visit the art workshops. Meals are provided and includes local produce grown on the farm. Pick the olives, harvest the grapes, and make cheese, wine, and bread.
The Aristeon Ecological Olive Press museum, located in Lithakia, is an olive oil museum and factory. Taste the oil with homemade bread and local olives and purchase products such as various flavors of extra virgin, organic olive oil, and olive soap.
