What's the Weather Like in Vienna in August?

The nights in August are comfortably warm with an average low temperature of 14°C. In the afternoons, the mercury climbs to an average high of 24°C, absolutely amazing weather to spend hours walking from highlight to highlight, palace to palace and museum to museum. Characterised by high temperature and plenty of sunshine, August is undoubtedly one of the best times of year to visit Vienna. In such delicious weather, one of the best things to do is simply walking around and enjoying the gorgeous architecture of Vienna's old city centre.
Ringstrasse
A strongly recommended street to walk is the 5.3-kilometres-long Ringstrasse, a ring-shaped street that encircles the Old Town. It was built in 1857 by orders of Emperor Franz Josephor film fans, this was the husband of famous Empress Sisi. The road quickly developed into a place where wealthy inhabitants could show off how rich they were. Within mere years, huge houses, palaces and monumental buildings lined the Ringstrasse, many of which are still there and some can be visited today. The buildings even feature their very own style, which has become known as Ringstrasse-style.
While strolling along this historic boulevard, you will pass many significant buildings and institutions, including such greats as the Town Hall, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Natural History Museum, the State Opera and the Parliament Building. It goes without saying that this is the most important street in all of Austria visit to Vienna is not complete without walking this street and visiting at least a couple of its landmark buildings.
