Weather

What a lovely climate.
Sunny days with very little humidity.
Wall to wall sun, what more can you ask for, oh and a nice cooling breeze by the sea.

Holiday

Very nice!
This was our first venture to a naturist area and I must say we really enjoyed it and felt very safe, you can even walk the roads in the nude and the 2 mile long naturist beach is fantastic!

We stayed on the naturist complex of Vera Natura in Apartment Jasmine ground floor south facing to bedrooms and lovely garden what more can you ask!

Found it at (www.vera-natura.co.uk)
Very reasonable rates and first class inside with all mod cons.
The complex had 3 pools inside and one very large outside as well as a childrens pool.

Places Recommended

Hotel street close by had many restaurants and there were some more near and above the Consum supermarket - all very cheap and good value.
Short drive to Garrucha for many fish restuarants and to Mojacar for anything else very large resort with all amenities.

Weather

We went to VP by the recommendations of our friends; we had never been to this region of Spain previously.
The weather was glorious with very low humidity.
Average temp was 30c and the sea was lovely for swimming. Exceptional weather everyday!

Holiday

In a word 'fantastic'.
We rented a very nice apartment about 5 minutes from the beach (see www.andalusdreams.com).
We had access to a large pool set in lovely gardens and sat out on the patio for lunch or evening meals.
This is a quiet resort but there is a very good selection of bars and restaurants close by - (try Mohana Argentinian steak house behind the Consum supermarket!).
The beaches are amazing - they stretch for miles and there wasn't a single day that they were packed with people.
The water was perfect for swimming and everywhere was clean - showers are available at the edge of the sand to clean yourself down before leaving.
The roads were generally very quiet and we didn't experience any traffic problems that we have sometimes encountered on the busier Costa resorts.
You do need a car to get about but we found the rental to be very cheap and it allowed us to please ourselves.
Nightlife is very low key and based on cafe and restaurant culture.
There is entertainment on in a few places - you need to go to Mojacar playa for more of a nightscene but this is only about a 10 minutes journey by car.
This whole area is very peaceful and has kept Spanish tradition alive.
It is nowhere near as built up or as busy as the Costa Blanca / Costa Sol - no high rise hotels that blot the views!
Yes we were blown away by the whole experience and if you want to avoid the maddening crowds and typical chip shop in the sun holiday, this is the place to come.

Places Recommended

Lots of places to see.
We had a day trip to Granada and Almeria city - both really worth the effort.
Locally there is an abundance of places to visit.
We liked Villaricos and Mojacar Pueblo (lovely little winding streets, cafes and restaurants).
We also went to Nijar which is about 40 minutes away.
This is hillside village with lots of ceramic type shops (very cheap!).
The scenery is both breathtaking and so diverse - rugged coastlines, mountain views, large plains planted with orange groves and crops and a desert like interior, a real mix of land scapes.
Cuevas De Almanzora is also recommended. which is a lovely and lively town.
We also had a day at the Vera water park which is only a couple of minutes away.

Weather

The weather was on the whole very good for this time of the year and much warmer than expected - including the sea. We have had some rain but even so we couldn't complain - even managed to achieve a nice tan!

Holiday

In a word - wonderful! This resort is very peaceful and traditional unlike many of the larger 'touristy' resorts on the other costas. The area is very relaxed and the complex we stayed on (Andalus Hill) was very smart and beautifully appointed - it is a quiet an unimposing place and had a good sense of privacy. An indoor pool made it an even better choice as we could swim to our heart's content without worrying about what was happening outside!
There are a great choice of restaurants all located within easy walking distance. The beaches are also only a few minutes away go on for as far as the eye can see - they were sandy and very clean, the sea was warmer than expected and we did go in for a dip regularly.

Places Recommended

For accommodation we stayed in a rented apartment called Andalusdreams .. you can find in on google. The place was exceptionally clean, comfortable and the owners have very much made it a 'home from home'.
Mojacar Pueblo is a must - what a lovely hillside village with very quaint narrow winding streets and lots of arty type craft shops. There is a great choice of restaurants and a superb terrace cafe that overlooks the hillside with great views out to the sea and surrounding valley.
We also enjoyed Garrucha - a typically Spanish sea-side resort with some great places to eat the freshly landed fish from the port area. These are situated on a long promenade.
We also highly recommend visits to Villaricos, Vera Town and San Juan de los Terreros. In land we also visited Nijar and finally the wonderful Cab De Gata, a nature park of lovely coves and beaches (almost empty of people!!)
If you want nightlife then the best bet is Mojacar Playa resort but this region is not like Benidorm or Magaluf ... it is quite low key and traditionally Spanish (which is why it is so good!). We will come back for sure .....
