The weather was warm considering we visited in May. There was an odd shower, but cleared quickly.
Holiday
We had an awesome time. We don' t like to spend all our time at the beach as we love exploring and participating with local life and Sicily is certainly the place to do this. We visited all sides of the island and at that time of the year, it's very easy to travel as it's not as busy as summer.
We visited Palermo, the capital, Trapani, Marsala ( you have to taste the Marsala wine ! ) Agrigento ( where the temples are), Syracuse , a very historic city., and Catania, home to the giant volcano, Mount Etna.
Places Recommended
Certainly Taormina is a fantastic place to visit and stay. It is set on 2 levels, Alta and Bassa. Alta is at the top with stunning gardens and views of the sea and volcano and below, Bassa, there are gorgeous beaches , although not sandy.

Excellent weather visited the island three times now in October and the Sun was ever present during all my trips.
Holiday
Toured the island Trapani Agrigento Enna Syracuse by bus then train onto Catania and
Naxos.
Places Recommended
Enna and Syracuse, Mount Etna,Alcantara Gorge, Valley of the temples Agrigento.
Taoramina, Giardini Naxos.

Weather was beautiful. We had one bad storm and Etna erupted, sending grey ash down everywhere, but it was very exciting watching it.
Holiday
Fabulous! it was all we expected and more. We have been three times and are returning next year again. It's not that expensive as long as you go to the bars/cafes on the side streets off the Corsso Umberto. We have stayed at Hotel Bel Soggiorno, Hotel Kristina and The Meridiana Hotel. Loved them all.

The weather was lovely - just had a thunderstorm one day - other than that is was sunshine and warm all the time. It was September when I visited.
Holiday
Five days of sight seeing and experiencing so many things. It was a real experience. Absolutley loved it. It was the end of the summer season - quite a few places were shut but it meant getting around was a lot less of a hassle.
Amazing buildings and so clean - and the ice-cream is fabulous!
