What's the weather like in Salou in May

Temperature

Salou in Spain has wonderfully pleasant weather during May. If you're looking for a place to enjoy the spring, Salou is a great choice. Daytime average temperatures reach a high of 22°C (72°F) and only fall to 14°C (57°F) at night with an average temperature of 18°C (64°F) making it a lovely time to visit.

The highest recorded temperature in May (2000) has been about 31°C (89°F), with the lowest recorded temperature (2012) at 6°C (44°F). The weather holds at about 20°C from the beginning of the month into the second week. The warm weather continues to increase into the month reaching 22°C by the third week and rising to around 24°C by the end of the month. The weather for May provides long stretches of sunny days; the first three weeks have barely a cloud in the sky. You will see rain come in by the end of the third week and on through the month.

Humidity stays between 30 and 70% for most of May but will see averages reach as low as 50% and as high as 80% about once a week. The daily average for May is around 64%, making it very comfortable.

The average daily wind speed in May has been around 12 km/h (that is equivalent to about 7 mph, or 6 knots). Wind speeds vary from 3-18 mph throughout the month and in recent years have sustained the maximum speed of 74 km/h, (that is equivalent of around 46 mph, or 40 knots).

Hit The Beach

Playa dels Capellans is another one of Salou's smaller beaches. This quaint beach still has a lot to offer with its beach bar, ice cream counter, public toilets, and relaxing environment. Kayaks and pedalos are available to hire from the beach kiosk, as well as paraols and sun loungers. Only a short walk from Salou's main beach Llevant, Capellans is a nice break from the crowds. Be sure to check out this gem of a cove on this lovely beach.

If you are looking to eat outdoors, head to The Palm Tree, Carrer de Valls. Enjoy Breakfast/Brunch, Dinner or late night dining. This restaurant has a Pub/Grill atmosphere and offers an international cuisine, including meats cooked on a BBQ, fresh fish, freshly made pizzas, pastas and popular sizzling plates. The New Little Hampton, Av de Carles Buigas is a great restaurant for a variety of people; families with children, those looking for a romantic evening, those looking for entertainment on the bar scene, as well as those dining on a budget. American Roadhouse meets International restaurant at The New Little Hampton. Choose from American classics like pulled pork, bbq ribs, meatloaf, bbq chicken, pulled beef and philly cheese steak as well as pizza, pasta, fish, breakfast, snacks and much more. Staff is friendly and attentive but allows you your privacy, as well. Open 9am to 11.30pm.
