What's the Weather Like in Pefkos in February

The beach resort of Pefkos sits on the coast of the Greek island of Rhodes, just 56 kilometres from the capital city. Pefkos is a charming holiday village, with beautiful low rise villas, historical sites and traditional bars and restaurants, which provide a memorable stay. This, along with a wonderful Mediterranean climate, draws visitors to the resort all year round.

February marks the end of the winter season in Rhodes, but the weather is still quite cold. In fact, along with January, it's the coldest month of the year so it is highly advisable that you bring some appropriate clothes to keep you warm.


The average temperature in February is 11°C though day-time highs can reach up to a mild 14°C. Nights are when the temperatures drop to their lowest, with average lows of around 8°C which can feel quite chilly, especially with the breezes that often occur - there's a 45% chance of a windy day with an average wind speed of 19 kph or 12 mph.

Meltemi Restaurant

One of the most popular eateries is Meltemi Restaurant at the Matina Hotel. This charming and traditional-style restaurant serves a range of Greek, Mediterranean and international dishes and has a variety of vegetarian options on the menu too. Pefkos Central

Another recommended place to eat is Pefkos Central located on the main road in the centre of the village. This lively restaurant offers guests a great value set menu as well as some authentic Greek tastes including kleftikos and freshly grilled lamb. A children's menu is also available.

Mount Attavyros

Whatever the weather, travelers can witness breathtaking views from Mount Attavyros, the highest mountain on Rhodes at 1,215 metres high. For active tourists looking for adventure, there are many tour companies operating on Rhodes who offer hiking tours up the mountain. It's a challenging 2-3 hour climb to the island's highest point, so this is only recommended for experienced hikers who know what they're doing.
