Arrived at 2918 Calle Brougham Mazarron country club… lovely complex and not too far from amazing beaches – having our own villa we expected to be given info on local supermarkets, restaurants best beaches and things for children to do – also no info on how to use the boiler, we were also handed a number of keys had no idea what these were all for (no information pack whatsoever!!!)
After agency manager made it clear he was not available 24 hours a day and he rushed off only having given us info on paying our electric. We had a list of issues with property (listed below) which the agency manager would have seen for himself had he hang around
• TV did not work – engineer called out twice (we had to wait in for both times) told broken – no apologies from either the owner or agency manager and no replacement over our ten day stay– ipads needed charging daily for children to use which used a lot of our electricity– we tried to contact agency manager but it would take him a couple of days to get back to us so we gave up and went through trip adviser and the owner (owner not helpful at all just saying they could not do anything and property manager was dealing with everything – which he clearly wasn’t)
• Broken sun chair and parasol – both replaced quickly and both in perfect working condition when we left the property (this would have been apparent to the property manager if he had turned up on the last day to see us off – instead used the excuse of his car breaking down!!!)
• No cover on one of the fans inside the property (eldest daughter caught her harm on the blades which left a sore red mark for a couple of days)
• Disgusting covers on sun loungers very stained, broken and loose tiles on back door step, a few sharp tiles missing in pool which had sharp edges
• Bed linen did not smell clean so I washed before using only to find (and I was almost sick) yellow stinking pillows – we left these with the cleaners that turned up at the last day and they assured us they would pass onto the owner (we heard nothing!!)
• Dirty mirror in bathroom with the message “hello gay boy” appearing on the mirror after the steam hit it (obviously hadn’t been cleaned since last tenant or even one before)
• Dirty cutlery and saucepans – had to wash everything before use
• Black damp patches in some of the rooms (mainly in unused bedroom but this is normally an indication that there would more around the property
We informed the owner and manager of these issues and the least we would have expected was a refund for cleaning (cleaning charge is 65 euros and some sort of compensation for no TV – instead we were told that 55 euros was coming out of our deposit as the new parasol they replaced was broken. FURIOUS is not the word the Parasol was in perfect working condition when we left (I know as I put the parasols down every night as per instructions to avoid damage) – It took the manager 7DAYS to inform us the parasol was broken and he did this AFTER we had made our complaints.
