We came at the beginning of October and went back middle of November. The weather most days was from 72f to 82f a really beautiful time to come and enjoy Malta.
Holiday
The holiday has been fantastic, coming this time of year makes it more pleasant to go and visit most places on the island.
Places Recommended
One of the most beautiful places to visit is Mdina, also known as the silent city. I would also suggest going to the two cherries pub in Gawra, the food and hospitality was amazing, the guy who owns it James will give you the best tips.

Holiday
A wonderful holiday.
Relaxed surroundings.
Very friendly and welcoming.
Just the place to enjoy local culture in a very safe environment.
Places Recommended
Take a boat trip to the small Island of Comino to enjoy swimming in the clear blue water.
Gozo is also a must while you are in. Malta.
Mdina is beautiful day and night, enjoy the views and tourist attractions by day and then book a table at a restaurant during the evening and then take a walk through the silent city at night!
Soak up the history by visiting the wide variety of exhibitions that are available right across the island.
If you are self catering buy some wonderful fresh fish at the Marsaxlokk Sunday market and even if you don't want to cook it visit for the experience and enjoy the small fishing village.
There is a beautiful sandy beach at Mellieha with shallow safe bathing.
Malta is also home to many beautiful churches from the small Ta Pinu at Gharb on Gozo to the Mosta Dome with masses of history.
I could go and on - take a look for yourself.

We usually come to Malta in March and the weather is comparable to early June in the UK.
You'll need a sweater or cardigan but may end up carrying it rather than wearing it but best to keep it with you.
Very little rain, its like the best spring in the UK.
Holiday
Amazing, we now always go self-catering so that we can enjoy the best of the local produce and the restaurants rather than being tied to hotel fare.
We do not tend to go for beach holidays but my husband has a great time diving and we both love to go to the historic sites around the island.
The islands are also great for walking, I finally went to Comino last year and leaving the sunbathers in the Blue Lagoon walked across to the little Fort Saint Elmo. A lovely hot day, perfect!
Places Recommended
Our regular visits are to the Saluting Battery in Valetta and to the various forts and ancient sites. There are markets across the islands and we haven't finished exploring yet.
We can't wait for our next visit which for a change will be in November.

Holiday
First off, let me say that Malta is an amazing place and I highly recommend anyone looking for a getaway vacation to come here.
However, make sure that your stay is not too long. The Maltese "island" way of life can get very old very fast to outsiders who may not be used to it, aka me.
The Maltese are "go with the flow" people who say one thing and do another.
Make sure that before travelling you get as much information about your trip before hand because Malta likes to have MANY surprise obstacles for you to jump through as well as fees at every corner.
Places Recommended
St. Peters Pool is an amazing place to cliff jump (only 15-20 feet at most).
Golden Bay is a must.
The Blue Lagoon on Comino is gorgeous.
The Azure Window and any of the beaches on Gozo.
Paceville is great for drinks, shopping and partying.
Valletta is centre for most festivals and they go all out.

Weather
I have going to Malta for almost 20 years now both in winter and in the summer.
The summer months from June to September can at times be very hot and on the odd occasions be unbearable, If you are a sun lover then you should have a very pleasant time. If however you like it a bit cooler then try Malta from mid February to end of April or Mid September to end of November when the average weather is much more pleasant.
Winters in Malta can be a bit of a hit and miss affair, I have been in December when it rained every day for the whole 2 weeks I was there.
On another occasion in January I was walking around in shorts during daylight hours as the weather was so warm. However on average the weather is not to bad with some wet days and some very pleasant warm days
Holiday
Holidays are what the individuals make them. I have been to Malta many times and still find the place fascinating and enchanting, The people of Malta are so very friendly to the British and always make you welcome. If you are rude or unfriendly to them they will be the same to you, Its just human nature.
I you are a person who is looking for a holiday where you want 5 star treatment wherever you go then I would suggest that you try another country, Malta is a much more laid back island and as such you will find that things do not always work the way one would have hoped, For me that is part of the Malta charm and long my it continue.
Places Recommended
Recommending places to visit on Malta is really a little bit of a waste of time as we all have different tastes in what we like.
Malta is only a small island with a very good cheap bus service, you can visit the whole island within a 2 week stay.
I would recommend that the visitor buys a good guide book before arriving in Malta then once you have selected what you would like to see then hop on a bus and go.
If you don't fancy the bus then hire a car for a few days and see the island that way I should add that if you are going to travel around Malta by bus then check out the weekly/monthly bus passes that are on sale as these passes cans save the user a good deal of money.

Weather in Malta is always good, sometimes to hot
Holiday
Accomodation in hotel room (Canifor) very basic for a 4 star hotel. Small television with only UK news channels small safe (charge) tv remote (charge) small fridge (charge) no iron or board (can be borrowed from reception). Room has airconditioning but in name only as the conditioning unit only gives out cool air, it is cooler with the ceiling fan and believe me the rooms get very hot . Don't think of leaving your bedroom window open after dusk as your room will be full of Mosquitos, made this mistake one night and was eaten alive. There is no disabled access to this hotel you have two sets of steps to get in, and the lifts breakdown on an almost daily basis, entertainment at weekends is catered for the Maltese. There are two small swimming pools outside (seawater) one small pool inside and Jacuzzi on roof (filthy)
Resteraunt small and cramped ,people walking about trying to avoid each other with plates of hot food in theyre hands. The menu is very repetitive food looks very unappatising and is served up like slops by unsmiling staff who I think would rather be anywhere but there, two small vending machines for tea and coffee (breakfast only) be prepared to wait if you want any with tour breakfast.
If you go all inclusive be prepared to be disappointed, I personally have never tried but everyone you talk to says it is a total waste of money with lots of them choosing to go out for theyre meals and entertainment.
This is as honest a review as I can give it has not been embellished it is fact. I have stayed at the Canifor several times but this was my last there is better hotels than this around the same price.

We had glorious weather throughout the week with gentle breezes making beach days and Valetta sightseeing very pleasant. Wall to wall sunshine and warm balmy evenings meant we could make the most of every moment. I have visited Malta many times and have only had poor weather one Easter when it was very wet and cold.
Holiday
With 6 people ranging from 8months old to 57 years old, you might think there would have been altercations but Malta has something for everyone and we all enjoyed sightseeing, playing in the rock pools, relaxing on the beach, taking advantage of the hotel indoor pool in the evenings, eating out in the family friendly restaurants serving local dishes alongside a wide choice of less exotic offerings. The Riza Holiday complex is very well run and well situated in Qwara within easy walking distance of Buggiba, the bus station and many restaurants. It has indoor and outdoor swimming pools, air conditioned lounge areas and a trendy bar area.
Places Recommended
The Three Cities of Senglea, Vittoriosa and Copuscoa are magnificent and you feel youa re in the heart of the historical island. Marsaxxlock with its traditional market and row of fish restaurants the length of the seafront with the pretty traditional fishing boats forming a beautiful backdrop should not be missed. The capital Valetta is undergoing a major transformation and I am worried that they will destroy what was a very beautiful city full of historical, beautiful buildings. Mdina, the silent city is enchanting but be careful you don't get run over by a nun in a fiat!!

fairly warm but on three of our seven day visit the wind was too strong to enjoy the walking and sightseeing.
Holiday
We made the holiday work, rather than it working for us. We were approached by self-confessed hawkers trying to sell time share accommodation on our first day. We went to a sea side restaurant where we requested a meal of fresh sardines and salad costing 7.5 euros per person for two, were presented with a huge , badly cooked fish platter, which cost 42 euros-this was Angelos 2 at St Pauls Bay. We went to the Archaeology Museum at Valletta where the entrance fee was 35 euros each.
The North/South hop 0n/off buses which cost 30 euros for 2 for a day ticket suggested that you could take in many of Maltas places to visit in the one day, but time constraints meant that you couldnt visit more than probabaly 2 of them. Much better is the 12,50 euro weeky bus ticket with Arriva bus co. where you can go anywhere on their bus route.

My partner fell in one of the corridors and had to wait all day to see a doctor who eventually diagnosed her over the phone, we went to hospital at 8pm at night luckily nothing was broken.
It was like being in Bierut, you could not go for a walk at night, the lighting was bad and the pavements where terrible however this has not put us of Malta.

I have been to Malta in the summer and in the winter.
In the summer it is quite hot but the beaches are beautiful and you can spend the whole day there. Most beaches are within a short drive.
In the fall it is not as hot but the water is still warm for swimming. The air is not quite as hot so it was a bit cool when you get out of the water so you had to try to stay in the sun.
We also had a few raining days.

On the whole very nice, very friendly - we stayed in the Canifor Hotel.
My real moan about this holiday is the run down state of Bugiba. We took our grand daughter to Bugiba in 2010 and she cut her foot badly on glass on the footpath. Lo and behold we went back in 2012 and the glass was still there. You take your life in your hands when you are walking around at night due to the combination of poor lighting and dangerous footpaths.

Weather
I am a regular traveller to Malta- my second home.
Over the years I have got sunburnt in March, swam in the sea at Christmas, suffered from humidity and unusual heavy rain in September, and everything in between.
July/August is hot but perfect for sunbathing; late winter/early spring is perfect to escape the horrors of English weather, to see the sun and feel the warmth after suffering a London winter. Bliss.
May and October are my favourite months: not blistering hot, but you can eat al fresco, with a cardie for the evening maybe? Usually warm enough for the beach without burning, but also good for sight seeing, and being able to sleep at night.
Holiday
This Island, you either love it or hate it.
I love it and all it's quirks.
Accept that people are genuinely nice,
If they take to you and invite you to a family dinner at their home it is 99% genuine.
Places Recommended
If you like wild life and birds ask about the bird sanctuary in the south of the Island near Zurrieq:
a spin off from the established Falcon Heights outside London. Only small and growing, but the passion shows through.
Also the wild life sanctuary near Mellieha/Ghadira beach; was destroyed by fire by hopefully will be open again.
Finally, got to give a mention to my "local"-
Hi guys, you owe me a large whisky!-
Incognito, lounge bar and restaurant, Qawra/ St. Paul's Bay, Michael, David and Jason, mention my name Val so I can collect!
Varied entertainment, Karaoke, cabaret, guest Elvis, etc inside or outside dining (during the summer) good music from DJs, child and wrinkly friendly early on, then locals and more boozy/adult to the early hours.
Worth getting a car to look below the surface, or alternatively chat up a local to take you around.
Negotiate and might be cheaper than an organised, only surface tour.
Again, be open and they will be happy to show off their pride in their Island.
It's more about respect than rip off

Weather
During the day the weather was fine and warm.
Although during the night on a couple of occasions we had thunder storms and heavy rainfall.
But as it was at night it did not effect our holiday at all..
Holiday
We had a most relaxing holiday. Just chilling out.
We stayed in Qawra. Plenty of bars and restaurants to cater for every taste.
Places Recommended
We would recommend Valletta, a must if you like history.
Mdina and Sliema are also great places to see.
If you want a great beach there is Golden Bay or Melieha.

Weather
Weather very sunny and bright. During March the temperature was around 60-70 degrees. Lovely and not too hot.
Holiday
I had very good accommodation at the Windsor Hotel in Sliema.
The Hotel staff were very friendly and my room was very clean and comfortable.
The hotel was near the sea and around the block from the main road where you can catch a bus to any destination.
The surrounding area offers many restaurants, cafe's and other shops, etc.
My stay was better then two years ago. The streets are cleaner, and there has been an improvement in a variety of things for tourists, such as more places to eat with much improved menus.
Places Recommended
Visit the capital of Valletta, island of Gozo, Blue Grotto, St Paul's Bay, St Julian's, Pace-Ville to name a few.
I will visit this Island again hopefully very soon. I was very pleased overall with a star rating of 4 1/2

Warm and sunny most days, rained once late in evening and through night, but cleared up by dawn.
Temperature averaged 25 degrees daytime, nights were warm and comfortable.

Brilliant.
Locals were very friendly if you spoke to them, but seemed stand offish if you didn't speak first.
Hotel staff at the Pergola were brilliant, nothing too much trouble, made us feel welcome

Weather
The weather was terrific, plenty of sunshine and extremely hot. There was a hardly a cloud in the sky and near the coast, a slight breeze was very welcoming.
Holiday
There was so much to see, plenty of sightseeing and full of history. The people are so friendly and their English very good. The views over the Grand Harbour are breathtaking, and inside the many churches we visited are awe inspiring. Getting around was so easy, an experience never to be missed on board the old buses. There are plenty of eating areas and the food is really good.
Places Recommended
Places to visit are the Grand Harbour, Mosta Dome,Marsaxxlokk,
Sliema,
Valletta and you must go to the Blue Lagoon, for a swim, the water is beautiful. We went on a cruise round Malta and really enjoyed that. A trip to the sister island of
Gozo is also a must.
