July is the middle of the peak tourist season in Magaluf and the resort will be buzzing, especially with young holiday makers. Sunbathing rules the day, while partying and clubbing are the most common night time activities. However, there still are activities for families with children of all ages and the more peaceful resort of Palma Nova is just around the corner.
Temperatures are almost reaching their peak in July, though August is the hottest month. During the day, the average temperature is a lovely 24°C while highs can hit a sweltering 29°C. These soaring temperatures are perfect for sunbathing and sun beds at hotel pools and on the beaches will go fast at this time of year, so get out early enough to reserve one. It is also advisable to stay safe in these temperatures, drinking plenty of water and always wearing sunscreen. Nights in Magaluf are balmy and dry, with an average low temperature of 18°C.
The average sea temperature is high in July at 25°C which makes swimming a popular activity. Water activities are popular here as well, with parasailing and jet skiing topping the list.
Those planning a holiday to Magaluf this month needn't worry about rain spoiling their fun. July is the driest month of the whole year and sees hardly any rainfall, with an average precipitation level of just 9mm which falls over 4 days. Instead, days are long and bright, characterised by sunshine and clear skies. July is the sunniest month with an average of 13 hours of sunlight every day and an 80% chance of a sunny day.
Samos Hotel is situated right next door to the BCM dance club, but, surprisingly, it comes highly recommended by families as well as the typical 18 to 30 party crowd. It has a very central location so that everyone is bound to find something entertaining nearby. The rooms are actually reported to be very quiet and restful despite being so close to a throbbing, late-night club. The hotel features a large outdoor pool area, a buffet restaurant and a range of sports facilities as well as an evening entertainment programme.
Blue Sea Vistasol is another popular choice in the resort. Centrally located, this three star hotel offers a comfortable base for a holiday to Magaluf and is within easy reach of all the main attractions, while the beach is just 100m away. The hotel boasts a large outdoor pool area with sun loungers as well as an on-site spa with Jacuzzi, sauna and Turkish baths. Guests can stay in a self-catering apartment or dine all inclusive.
If location is top of your priority list, Universal Hotel Florida occupies an unrivalled position. The hotel sits above the beach and offers stunning sea views out over the Mediterranean. This adult-only hotel has a friendly and relaxed vibe but is just minutes from Magaluf's famous nightlife. On-site facilities include a pool and sun terrace, a buffet restaurant and a games room.
While travellers to Magaluf may spend their evenings partying, there's only one place to be during the day on the beach. This is especially true in July when temperatures are sizzling and the sea is a beautiful 25°C. The abundance of sunshine also provides perfect conditions to relax and soak up the rays on the soft golden sand.
Magaluf has its own beach at the centre of the resort, but it's not the only good beach in the area. Nearby Palma Nova has a range of beautiful Blue Flag beaches which are just a short walk away. The most popular and well-facilitated is Playa de Son Maties, a 600 metre stretch with shallow waters that are ideal for water sports such as jet skiing and wind surfing. With showers, sunbeds and umbrellas, it's a great choice for all.
Magaluf has a huge choice of bars, restaurants and clubs for holiday makers to choose from. In fact, you could visit a new one every night of your holiday! The strip is where most of the establishments are located and this is where most tourists head to on an evening. Boomerang Bar is a great place to begin the night. The music and atmosphere here set the tone for a great night out.
The Jack Daniels Bar is also a relatively new but already popular choice. Contrary to its name, it serves a wide choice of drinks and delicious cocktails. The outdoor terrace bar is the establishment's most distinguishing feature and is a great place to relax.
If all that partying has made you hungry, there's plenty of good places to eat in Magaluf and Chi Chi's Tex Mex is one of the best. This long-standing establishment is well-known for its amazing home cooked food and specialises in Mexican and barbecue cuisine. Choose from sizzling fajitas, mouth-watering ribs and gourmet burgers.
There's no denying that July is party time in Magaluf. The resort's parties are known worldwide, but the annual 4th of July party there tops them all. The Daiquiri Palace hosts a unique mix of tourists and locals for a party that holds its own, even in the buzzing atmosphere that is Magaluf. The party is held right on the beach with lots of food and drinks as well as musicians and singers who provide live entertainment.
Another fun activity is the Magaluf Boat Party or 'Booze Cruise' which is held every Saturday and even more frequently in the most popular summer months. The boa takes over 200 people out for a fun dance party aboard its decks which is all organized by the best dance club in the area, the BCM Nightclub.
