Weather
Weather was beautiful. Mornings a bit chilly (and again when sun set) but bright sunshine during the day and could remove sweater/coat and wear short sleeves.
Holiday
This was a spiritual pilgrimage, the first stop and we were there for about three days. It was absolutely fabulous. It's quite easy to become familiar with Lourdes as it is a small town. The Shrine itself is phenomenal.
Places Recommended
Of course the Grotto is essential. At 3:30PM every day they say the rosary in French.
There is a live web cam online, if you have time to learn these prayers in French I encourage you to do so and participate at this rosary. At 4:00 PM there is the blessing of the sick. This is a fantastic and beautiful experience.
At night there is the candle rosary procession, a must do at least once. If you are with a tour, you can follow the "blue line" around the town and see where Bernadette and her family lived as well as other museums and churches.

Weather
I have been 8/9 times over the past few years. The weather can be similar to UK. I have been when it has been very hot and sunny, and another year when it rained the whole week.
I have usually visit during May and weather can be varied. Prepare for all conditions. I take a long raincoat, and a sun hat.....together with a large unbrella to catch the rays or rain.
Holiday
Amazing. Nowhere can compaire to Lourdes. The services/hotels/cafe's are very good. Everyone is helpful if you have a sick person/wheelchair.
The shops can be a bit of a tight fit if you are not 'able' but everyone is accomodating.
I have been in cheap hotels and better hotels. All are clean and food is plentiful. I have dietry requests and they have always been provided.
I will return as often as I can. Love it! If you have not been, I highly recommend you do. If you are religeous it is so uplifting and prayerful. If you are not you will be comforted and inspired.
You will find peace. If you have time try to get up the funicular railway to the top of the mountain. A lovely cafe awaits and you can look 'down' on the eagles flying, and on the whole of Lourdes. If you are energetic, make the walk to the top and visit the three crosses placed by the people of Lourdes in rememberence of the RAF airmen whose planes crashed into the mountain top on returning from a raid on Germany during WWII.
Places Recommended
All the local places are well organized. Visit the home of St. Bernadette, and the convent is a 'must'.
