What's the Weather like in Krabi in February

The weather in Krabi, Thailand begins to get slightly warmer in February. At the beginning of the month, the average temperature starts off at 27.5°C (created by highs of 32°C and lows of 23°C) and gradually rises up to 28.5°C (highs of 33°C and lows of 24°C) by the end of the month.

Krabi Beach for February

Railay Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Ao Phra Nang, just south of Ao Nang. This beach is only accessible via boat ride, making it great for those in search of a remote, secluded beach. The long white sandy beach is flanked by tall limestone cliffs on either side which give some shade from the sun and provide rock climbers with hours of entertainment. For those who aren't keen on heights, the calm shallow waters create the ideal conditions for swimming. There is a short promenade lining the beach which offers numerous restaurants and shops, whilst boats moored in the shallow waters will take you to various other Thai islands for a small fee.

Hat Tham Phra Nang beach is similar to Railay Beach, made up of pure white sand, calm shallow waters and shade-providing limestone cliffs. It is also situated in Ao Nang and is just a short distance away from the outer and inner Phra Nang Caves, as well as Phra Nang Lagoon, for those who get bored of sunbathing. As well as being ideal for swimming, the clear waters of Hat Tham Phra Nang beach are also perfect for scuba diving and snorkelling, whilst the flanking cliffs are great for rock climbing and the green surroundings are suitable for rambling.

Neither of these beaches has parasols or sun loungers, so make sure you take your own commodities if you require them.

Bars and Restaurants

For quality Thai food in Krabi, pop into Ao Nang Boat Noodle. Situated close to the Cliff Resort in Ao Nang, this restaurant serves a great selection of Thai dishes, including boat noodles, fried seafood, Thai curries and Pad Thai, although the boat noodle soup is said to be the best dish on the menu. All the meals are cooked in a clean, open kitchen, making it suitable for those concerned about what they eat when abroad.  

When it comes to somewhere to eat lunch in Krabi Town, you can't beat Sandwich Me. This small restaurant is open from 10am until 9pm and serves a selection of Thai dishes and fresh smoothies. The owner is also the chef and will happily run through the menu with you, explaining any dishes you aren't certain of, before heading into the open kitchen and cooking them right in front of your eyes.

If you're in the mood for some live music during your stay in Krabi Town, head to Boogie Bar. This bar has a lively, youthful vibe with constant music being played throughout the venue, staff dancing when they aren't serving and a great selection of drinks, including Chang Beer which is buy-one-get-one-free during happy hour. The place really picks up from 10pm onward, when local rock bands take to the stage to play gigs.

Mayrai Station Bar is ideal for tourists visiting the night market in Krabi Town. This bar allows visitors to bring the food they've bought in the nearby market and eat it, as long as they clean up after themselves and order some drinks. Previous diners claim that the food served up by the Mayrai Station Bar isn't up to much, so you probably are better off bringing your own food if you fancy a drink here.

Things to do in Krabi in February

Avid photographers won't want to pass up the chance to visit the Railay beach viewpoint. This viewpoint can be reached by following a steep path which starts half way between Phra Nang beach and East Railey. The 15-20 minute path is very challenging and although there are various ropes along the way which you can use to steady yourself, the trail is only recommended for confident walkers and rock climbers. When you get to the end of the path, you'll be rewarded with incredible panoramic views of the beach below.

For some family-friendly fun in Krabi, stop by Poppy's Minigolf and Kebab Café. Located in Ao Nang, just down the road from the Ao Nang Silver Orchid Resort, this establishment offers a simple nine-hole mini golf course which the kids can amuse themselves with whilst the adults retire to the café for a freshly made kebab and cold drink. There are various meat, fish and vegetarian kebabs on offer, all of which are reasonably priced and cooked to order.

If you're in search of a value-for-money tailor in Krabi, stop by de' Marco Fashions. This shop is located within Ao Nang Resort and provides a vast selection of men and women's clothes, from made-to-measure trousers and skirts to shirts, blouses and full suits. The owner, David, takes true pride in his work and can have your order ready the very next day if necessary.
