Holguin is a city that has beautiful white sandy beach resorts on the outskirts of the city and has lovely warm waters all year round because of its location at the entrance of the Gulf of Mexico. Even in the early summer month of April, temperatures can reach highs of up to 30°C. Temperatures will dip down in the evening to a warm 19°C. With these lovely warm temperatures, you'll be able to enjoy the many things Holguin has to offer including the landmarks and shopping.

The restaurant has some amazing views of the sunset and the mountains in the distance which is also were wedding celebrations are hosted.
Things to do
How about booking an afternoon at the Eagle Ray Scuba Diving Centre. This is a lovely way of enjoying the warm weather and warm waters exploring the great variety of coral beds and small caves with family and friends. Don't worry if it's not something you have done before as the friendly instructors will help you get the most out of a truly wonderful experience.
If you're looking to avoid the midday sun but want something to do then discover some of the history at the Museo Casa Natal Calixto Garcia which is like a treasure trove filled with beautiful antique belongings. It is the birthplace of General Calixto Garcia who fought against Spain in Holguin and is filled with plenty of history and wonder.
Eating & Drinking Out
A very nice restaurant to visit is the La Cueva Restaurante which is in Gibara. You will have one of the best meals during your stay here with a friendly family feel atmosphere. The have just about everything on the menu including fish, blue crabs, banana fritters and the classic Cuban rice.
If you are more interested in dancing than eating and are looking for a place with a real local feel then the Casa De La Trova could be right up your street. With live local bands this is a restaurant full of life, sure to be a fun night out, especially on the weekends and more about atmosphere than serenity. If it is a place you are looking to try but at a more peaceful time then chose a weekday afternoon with so many interesting passers-by it's a great spot for people watching.
If you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere with excellent authentic Cuban food you could do a lot worse than to spend an afternoon at the Bahia Del Sol. Situated at the beachside this is a restaurant which receives fantastic reviews not only for the food but also the views of the crashing ocean waves. If you are a fan of seafood even better.
