The highest temperature ever recorded in the area is nearly 43C, so it can get very hot indeed. It should feel slightly fresher in Hisaronu, in comparison with other coastal areas, thanks to the slightly higher altitude and low humidity levels.

It's a similar story in all the southerly coastal resorts. Izmir, further to the west, sees average temperatures of 26C and highs of 32C. To the south east, expect average temperatures of 28C and highs of 31C in Alanya. The north of the country tends to be a little cooler year round, with average temperatures of 24C and highs of 28C in Istanbul.

Sea Temperature/Sunshine Hours

Sea temperatures are at their height at a very pleasant 25C, and there are 13 long hours of sunshine each day. Perfect beach weather!

Rain

There's very little rainfall anywhere in Turkey at this time of year. In Hisaronu, the average rainfall is just 5mm over 8 days. It's likely to be slightly wetter to the north of the country, with average rainfall of 20mm over 3 days in Istanbul; falling largely in the hilly, northern regions of the province rather than the city itself.

What little rainfall there is in Hisaronu is likely to take the form of sudden loud thunderstorms, accompanied by short, light showers and shouldn't prove disruptive.

Hisaronu Beaches For August

Sugar Beach

Sugar Beach boasts white sands and crystal clear water, usually quite uncrowded and ideal for small children as the water is very calm; you can swim out for miles and be only waist deep in parts. If you arrive at Belcegiz via dolmus, hop off and switch to a taxi driver to get to Sugar Beach, located about ten minutes away on the other side of the lagoon.

Patara beach

Patara beach, a few miles northwest of the small but popular resort of Kalkan, is one of the longest in the entire Mediterranean and remains remarkably undeveloped. Even in high-season it's possible to find deserted stretches of fine, white sand, complete with tidemark lines of driftwood, shells and other marine detritus.

You can wade out quite a long way before reaching deeper waters, making it ideal for kids, though frequent winds can bring in body-surfing sized regiments of waves. Access is usually made through the dune-engulfed Lycian site of Patara costing a small fee. Pay a little more for a combo site entry and Beachcard which allows you nine further entries to both site and beach. There are sunbeds and shades for hire, and there's a good value beach cafe/bar.

Kidrak

If you're in need of a bit of rest and relaxation, head to one of the many beaches in Hisaronu. Kidrak is an environmentally protected beach. It is one of the resort's well-kept secrets so you're bound to find the perfect sunbathing spot no matter which time of year you visit.
