Hisaronu Beaches For August

Sugar Beach

Sugar Beach boasts white sands and crystal clear water, usually quite uncrowded and ideal for small children as the water is very calm; you can swim out for miles and be only waist deep in parts. If you arrive at Belcegiz via dolmus, hop off and switch to a taxi driver to get to Sugar Beach, located about ten minutes away on the other side of the lagoon.

Patara Beach

Patara Beach, a few miles northwest of the small but popular resort of Kalkan, is one of the longest in the entire Mediterranean and remains remarkably undeveloped. Even in high-season it's possible to find deserted stretches of fine, white sand, complete with tidemark lines of driftwood, shells and other marine detritus.

You can wade out quite a long way before reaching deeper waters, making it ideal for kids, though frequent winds can bring in body-surfing sized regiments of waves. Access is usually made through the dune-engulfed Lycian site of Patara costing a small fee. Pay a little more for a combo site entry and Beachcard which allows you nine further entries to both site and beach. There are sunbeds and shades for hire, and there's a good value beach cafe/bar.
