Deceiving, because of the wind it doens't feel as Hot but slap that lotion on because I was burnt and it put a dampner on the remaining days.
Holiday
Wonderful, I read some negative reviews and it's what you make of a holiday that counts. You've got to take up the offer of a Jeep Safari and Boat trip, it's a must. Book with a fella called AJ by Gumbet Beach, 2nd kiosk by the Mistral Chinese Resturant, he'll do a great deal and is as honest as they come. Loads of places to eat but be aware of the ones that constantly badger you, they just want the numbers, go for the more quiter family run places, they tend to provide the best service.
Shopping is great as long as you're ok with fakes, there's good ones and bad ones, avoid the T-shirts like the plague, I put them in the wash once when I returned and they fell apart!. Be prepared to be a Cat or Dog Lover as there's loads roaming around, all friendly mind you, I love it but the wife had a cat phobia, poor thing, very amusing though!. Accomodation is what you make of it as well, we only returned to sleep so it wasn't a major issue for us, self catering as well which meant we had to find out own food but it's cheap eating out and there's so many different options.
Take the Dolmas local bus to Bodrum, unbeatable value at 1.25 each way, the UK could learn something about hospitality and customer services. Worse thing I would say is, be prepared for delays, we were delayed 4 hours outbound and 2 hours inbound. Apart from that I would definately recommend it.

Daisy Resturant (Gumbet Beach) try the chinese as the Turkish cheif is trained in chinese cooking. Kebab eateries within Bodrum. The musesm by the harbour.

Weather is roasting! I went the last week of June 2012..Boarderline unbearable heat from 10.30 to 4 each day. I think late september or early may would be better to travel
Holiday
Had a Brill holiday..wasn't too happy with my accommodation but the restraunts and bars had great food & drink, friendly staff and just a wonderful atmosphere overall. Bar street was menal at night..
Was surprised that the drink was the same price as Ireland & eating out wasn't too cheap either! Very good outlets for those wanting the designer gear

Weather
Absolutely beautiful.
I have been to Gumbet 4 times since 2002 (finances limited travel).
Every time has been in late September/early October. On one visit we left for home on the 10th October ( day after my birthday) and as we drove up to the airport the temp was 40 degree's IN OCTOBER wow, we have seen and experienced some amazing thunderstorms (that actually were very welcome) but mostly beautiful blue skies and sunshine.
Holiday
Fabulous, all of them :).
I personally am not a lover of beaches except for taking a walk on them so usually take the boat trips every other day or so to make the most of the sun with a wonderful sea breeze (great for a fab tan).
The excursions to the Mud baths and markets are an experience and part and parcel of a holiday to Turkey NOT TO BE MISSED.
The scenery is breathtaking and the people are friendly and helpful.
Yes you do get hassled to eat in restaurant's and look in shop's but if you politely say no thank you and walk on then no problem, small sacrifice for a fantastic stay in a beautiful country.
No matter what your preference regarding food, you will find it in Turkey, all taste's are catered for in abundance. If you go with the intention of having a great holiday and sampling some of the Turkish way of life you will thoroughly enjoy your holiday,
if on the other hand you like everything like it is at home then I would advise you to stay at home your obviously not ready for the "Turkish" experience.
We have stayed at Siesta Beach Apartment's (and will be again this Oct for my birthday trip ) right on the beach with fabulous staff and perfect apartment's.
We have also stayed twice at Dost Hotel a small friendly hotel just off the "strip" basic and cheap but still fabulous service, great staff, AMAZING pool (for such a small hotel).
If you haven't already guessed, I am a massive fan of Turkey, the country, the people, the food the whole shebang. I would definitely recommend a visit to this magical place.
Places Recommended
Turkey has something for everyone no matter what your likes/dislikes.
If you want to laze by the pool in the fabulous weather and do very little, it's the place for you. If you want to go on excursion's and see some of the Real Turkey then you will be amazed at the beauty of this country.

As always the weather was first class: hot days and balmy nights, no better way to enjoy your break.
Holiday
A first class resort with first class residents. The local people are so friendly and helpful, it's great. If you need anything, all you need to do is ask and someone will sort it for you, no matter where you are: in the pub, in a shop on the beach or even just on the street. Everywhere is clean and tidy and safe for young and old.
Places Recommended
The best place to stay is Tropicana Beach Hotel: always voted no. 1 on Trip Adviser; check it out and you won't want to stay anywhere else. This year will be our fourth time and have already booked for 2013.

If you dont like it hot, dont go there. Personally I love it, weather was fab. There was no rain at all, it was reaching 50c at midday and didnt go below 25c in the evening, happy days!
Holiday
Brilliant! It was the first time for me and my 16yr old daughter to go abroard on our own and was a bit worried at first, but everyone was lovely.
I wouldn't say it was a family holiday, definatley a single's holliday. Girls if your in for a good time, just dont act cheap or you'll get treated like it.
We had a great time, had lots of fun in Hotel Baba which is smack in the middle of the strip and next to the beach! I would recommend you do self catering as you get better rooms.

The weather was fab! Although the heat did rise to 50 degrees according to the locals. Which for me was great as I love the sun, I don't recommend you go this time of the year if you don't enjoy the sun, maybe try in September/October as its cooler. It did not rain once.
Holiday
This was our first holiday to Turkey and we stayed at the Tosunoglu Appartments these are family run apartments and they are the most helpful people, nothing is to much for them and if you have a problem it is sorted out there and then.
Apartments are basic but the pool is large and not cold. It is kept very clean, towels and bedding changed every two days, there is Air con in the room but you have to pay for this at £30.00 per week. I found that rather expensive so we opted for the fan at £10.00 per week. Also because Air con does not agree with the wife, but as I said the family make up for the lack of ammenities.
The first couple of days was a eye opener as you go into town you are grabbed and tossled to go into their shops or restaurants. After the first couple of days you get used to it.
Jack's Place was the restaurant that we used all the time, great staff, good laugh and the food was to die for. Ask for Ahmed-(Peter). We also went to 'Hello Casper', lovely food there too.
We are looking forward to going back there next year and are staying at the same appartments.

Holiday
Me and my fiancee went for 1 week. It was really nice, our hotel was lovely and the waiters were hillarious, they joined in with whatever we were doing. The beach was awful the sand was hard like pebbles and covered with deck chairs, but you can only have one if you eat at one of the cafes along the beachfront meaning if you don't you can't go on the beach because of confined space. The boat trip was lovely but funny because they tell you we are going to an aquariam on the boat trip, we got there and the man started to throw bread off the boat and normal fish swam towards us this got us in tears of laughter. All in all the boat trip was relaxing and a great opportunity to catch lots of rays!! The beach front was good for entertainment in the evening. The food was good if you find the right places. We stayed in a bed and breakfast but it was bread, eggs, tomatoes and celery. We did love it but we resorted to staying by the pool and looking around the shops because of the beach. I recomend that while you're out looking in the shops keep your sunglasses on! to avoid eye contact with the shopkeepers because they all say "come in and have a look" this does tend to get quite annoying. We would go back if we wanted fab weather and to stay by the hotel.

The weather was absolutely beautiful. I had the luxury of staying for 2 weeks although in the second week the heat rose to 45 according to the locals, and it was even too hot for them. It was lovely for tans but meant I had to spend much of the second week in the room across mid afternoon.
It rained once but it nicely broke up the heat and was very refreshing and warm.
Holiday
This was the best holiday I have ever been on in my entire life and would not think of going anywhere else for my summer holidays. I went with my Sister, brother in law and her 3 children and we all loved it. The people are hilarious, the weather is beautiful, the scenary is stunning and the food is delicious. I stayed at the Parkim Ayaz Hotel and it is the best hotel Ive ever stayed in. They wouldn't let you lift a finger, it was constantly cleaned, the staff are very hard working polite and funny and will do anything for you. The only issue we had was staying at the cozzy beach, it was far too noisy, so they moved us to the other side, rooms next to one another and upgraded us to deluxe for free. I have booked to return with my friend in September of this year and cant wait!
Places Recommended
Turgutreis was a lovely day out and has a glorious harbour and marina. Also the food and clothing was a lot cheaper than in Gumbet and the locals asked you if you wished to have a look in their shop instead of trying to drag you in. Bodrum is also a good place for a good haggle and I would recommend you go on one of Captain's Boat Trips, he stands on the beach front outside the Parkim Ayaz.

The weather was amazing, we have been going to Turkey since I was eleven and am going back again in July this year. It is very, very hot, great for your tan but unlike Spain and other places its not a sticky heat, its bearable.
Holiday
The trips are amazing and very cheap, you can get three trips as a package for less than a tenner, I recommend Kos, the boat trip and Halakanas. The Bodrum market and Castle are really good too. The night life is ace, i love R'n'B and its full of it, the best bars are xbar and Shamrock.
Places Recommended
Aqua park and Bitez beach its nicer than Gumbets and only ten minutes away. The taxis and buses are really cheap. Go too chinatwown for the nicest chinese ever and the Ozukara apartments restaurant is brilliant, the tomato soup with the melted cheese in it...mmm. Overall Turkday is incredible!!

The weather was amazing, really hot so lots of sun cream needed!!
The hottest day by the pool was 53 degrees!
By the end of the 2 weeks we looked like locals.
Remember to apply plenty of sun cream start with a really high factor and work your way down!
Holiday
We stayed in the Sun Hill Suites and, what can I say, the food was lovley, the rooms were kept immaculate, the people were really nice too!
We have 5 young children and the locals loved them.
The pool was nice too with a slide to entertain both young and old!
Views from the terrace bar were breath taking.
A kids disco every evening.
There are quite a few steps but all in all superb! I would defiently return there - five star!
Places Recommended
We did the day trip to Kos which we enjoyed.
Took a trip up Dalyan River and saw a huge logger head turtle! Wow!
We visited the mud baths, lovley!
Took a boat trip to Camel Beach where the kids all had a ride on a camel.
Visited Aqua Park in Bodrum, again really good fun but maybe not for the younger ones.
Went to Turqertreise Market which again was really enjoyable, the town around market was really quaint!
Also went into Bodrum for the day which was really very enjoyable!

We were at the Serpina Hotel. You wont find a better one!
We were there last year and the staff remember us from then, even the manager!
From the time you get up till you go to bed they will do everything for you from getting you ice-cream while you sun bath to moving the sun shades! You only have to ask!
If you stay for the Turkish Night and dont like the food tell them and they will do something else for you. Nothing is to much bother for them and the staff always have a smile for everyone - its fantastic!

The weather is brilliant but you can get easily burnt so wear lots of cream!
The temp. in June time is normally around 35 but there is a nice breeze so it cools you a bit.
Holiday
We stayed in the Parkim Ayaz hotel and we now go EVERY year. The service is brilliant and you dont have to lift a finger.
STAY AWAY FROM THE TAP WATER! Due to the drains the water isnt properly filtered so just drink bottled water.
The pool is FANTASTIC! It even has a slide which keeps the kids entertained all day!
There is a waterpark just 20 mins away and you can catch a dolmus(minibus) for just 50p and it drops you at the door!
The hotel is literally on the beach and your steps away from a wonderfull ice cream stand.
Places Recommended
If you like to see lovely parts of Bodrum and Gumbet then take a boat trip where you can visit mud pools and camel beach!
Also the Waterpark is fabulous but its a suntrap so cover up and waer tonnes of suncream!
Also take a shopping trip into Bodrum (only 50p by dolmus/minibus) where you can visit the castle and wonderful resteraunts.

The weather was brilliant as there was a nice breeze by the sea. It wasn't quite so nice by the pool as it was too hot.
If you decide to go on a boat trip for the day, make sure you put more than enough sun cream on as it is very windy on the boat and you can't feel the heat so I got really burnt!
Holiday
The hotel was lovely. We stayed at ??? It was very spaceous and clean. The staff are really friendly aswell. It was a 5-10 minutes walk away from the bbeach.
However, the beach wasn't very nice as the sand was very rough.
Also the nighlife is really bad! Everywhere you go, its RnB. There is only one Indie bar but there are quite a few karaoke bars if your'e into that sort of thing.
The most annoying thing about Turkey is the MEN! They are the most horrible people I have ever met. They are constantly pestering you and shouting/ whistling and clapping at you.

The weather was excellent, it was bearable due the breeze, there was no rain.
This was the last week of may but have been told gets very hot in the summer months.
The nights were mild but supriseingly not humid.
Holiday
It was fantastic, the country is a beautiful place, I had my doubts because of other peoples opinions, but it was not how I expected at all.
There is plenty to do, the shop keepers can be a bit of a pain trying to drag you in but a polite 'no il come back on my last day' should do the trick.
Nightlife is excellent even the beds on beaches were free! However the Turkish Lira is not has cheap has it used to be, alot of plces also quote you prices in the euro then convert it to lira.
Places Recommended
The day trips out are worth a visit, these are really cheap in contrast with everything else.
A boat trip to 5 different places with dinner only cost £8. Pamukkle springs is worth a visit and for the clubbers there is an open top nightclub the largest in europe. enjoy.
