in parts lovely, two days foul - hence the heading: I'd intended to back-pack in the mountains and only spend my first and last nights in Garmisch, but the weather forced me down.

Can recommend Hotel Maier in Partenkirchen (bed and breakfast only, but lovely spacious rooms and very close to historic village high street, bus stop outside house.

Holiday

Still splendid;

I RESENT being forced to judge nightlife before this can be sent: not every Brit spends his/her nights in bars. I don't set foot in them. I put zero just to get this out of the way.
