Weather very good in September & October. Windy but sometimes a God send.

Holiday

Absolutely fabulous, is Elounda. Wish I had found it long ago. Peaceful tranquil relaxing place. Wonderful restaurants bars tavernas & most of all warm and friendly locals. Plenty places to visit & exellent for walks. Very safe & secure.

Weather

We normally go in June or September, each month the weather has been absolutely perfect for the past 5 years.

Holiday

We just love the area and the wonderfully friendly, kind and helpful people.

We tend to urge on the 'chill' side of life, sitting round our pool, shopping in local shops and cooking up a storm for the evenings.

As well, we visit every year to the wonder meze restaurant in Agios and boat restaurant going into the sea in Elounda, and, of course Plaka.

These are all relaxing, peaceful and fantastic restaurants as well.

Spinalonga is a must!

We have been up into the mountains but as mentioned above, we tend to go there for a complete chill time so not too fussed about driving.
Having said that, there are some lovely villages and beaches to see.

Weather

The weather as always in Elounda was very good, blue skies a bit of a breeze/wind at times. The weather here seems better than the rest of the island.

Holiday

A relaxing time and a proper holiday ,no teenagers,no loutish brits, Elounda is not the place for a drinking holiday and night life in Elounda is very much village size than that of a town.

The local bus service is good to Agios Nikolaos which is the nearest large town about 25 mins away.

The beaches were clean and tidy and the sea lovely and warm.

Plenty of resturants available but our favourite was the Avli on the outskirts of town ,sitting under the olive trees looking out to the sea.

Weather

I have been to Elounda several times in June. It has always been hot & sunny, although last time we had a sudden cloudburst, which quickly dried up.
Last time we went in September. It was cooler morning & evening, but warmed up during the day.

Holiday

I fell in love with Elounda, and with Crete the first time I went in 2002.
Elounda is very pretty, and not too crowded. It has managed to retain its 'village'atmosphere. However it is quite sophisticated at night, with lots of bars and restaurants.Fortunately it doesn't seems to attract the young binge-drinking crowd, who all seem to head to other resorts.
I have been to Elounda every year since 2002 apart from last year, when I went to Corfu. I will be back in Elounda for 2 weeks in June. I can hardly wait!
