Weather
We are always fortunate with the weather, so much so that recently when we returned home, colleagues would ask whether we'd been to Majorca.
Even though we are still visiting Cornwall after 40 years, the pull is magnetic. Nowadays we travel out of the main holiday months and go during the winter, spring and autumn months, however, we very rarely have bad weather. The Helford river area is our favourite location.
Holiday
Our holidays are always memorable and we have made friends with people who are lucky enough to live in Cornwall - in retrospect perhaps we should re-locate!
We went to Cornwall four times last year.
Places Recommended
Gillan Creek on the Helford River is a lovely walking area and the creek is an ever changing scene.
Porthcurno is another favourite area with lovely coastal walks. Sennen Cove was a firm family favourite when the children were small.

Weather
We stayed right down in South West Cornwall near Lands End. It seems to have its own little weather system down there. We stayed for two weeks and had 80% good weather.
We had a few dull starts of sea mists or clouds to clear to beautiful weather with a few clouds now and again passing over at times, mostly clear. It rained very heavy for about one hour at Lamorna Cove. It rained another morning with light showers on and off and then lovely again.
Our last two days were 28 degrees. Averaged 23 to 25 degrees and mostly warm pleasant sunny evenings.
Holiday
Plenty to see and do. Take in the beautiful rugged scenery. The chilled village pace of life. Beautiful sheltered coves to visit to plenty of long golden sands beaches.
Truro was an excellent town to visit with its wonderful cathedral towering over, a mix of old and modern. St Ives although beautiful, gets extremely busy in the summer months. Best beach for its dramatic scenery and turquoise seas is Porthcuurno. Take a visit there also to the Minack Theatre - a theatre in the cliffs - take your own picnic and refreshments.
Love St Agnes village and trevaunance cove, Sennen Cove, Porthgwarra, Penberth, Lamorna, Chapel Porth. Visit Marazion village overlooking St Michaels Mount - also worth a visit.
Porthleven is a harbour village - recommend the ice cream bar - think it was called Ice is Nice. Enjoyed kayaking, surfing, cliff walks and golf. Penzance is an old town. Mousehole is very quaint. For a theme park day out there is Flambards - but can get pricey. On the Lizard is another fabulous beach - dramatic scenery also - Kynance Cove.
It is a long journey down - there is the option of flying down and hiring a car. We travelled down Friday night and stayed in a Travelodge to avoid the Saturday traffic. My sister prefers to travel overnight Friday to avoid the traffic. We think it is well worth the journey down. If you do decide to go, enjoy!
