Glorious. In fact, too hot on a couple of occasions.
Only one day of light rain in two weeks when temperature dropped to 20 C.
However, rest of time was hot and sunny. One day reached 38C and rest around 30C mark.
We went in August 2009 and the area is the hottest region in France after the South of France of course.
Holiday
Fabulous. Brilliant countryside - really unspoilt. We stayed in a Manor House near a river side village. You need a swimming pool due to the heat.
Places Recommended
Cognac, Jarnac, Chateau Rochefoucauld.
All the rivers, sleepy villages, local markets and vineyards.

Very hot, blue skies everyday. It reached 28 degrees one day. Very lovely! It wasn't humid and I only remember it showering for a few minutes one day. We got great tans and ate out by the river most evenings
Holiday
The house was stunning and located on the banks of the river Charente which meant the views were really amazing and the fishing, according to my husband, was great. The house was spacious and really well equipped and the beds very comfy. We loved it and will definately return. www.thefrenchescape.com
Places Recommended
Futurescope was fun, the Cognac houses were well worth a visit and we loved the boat hire from Jarnac, lots of fun.
