Weather

Weather was windy but a lovely warm breeze which was welcome as it was so hot, odd days with clouds but still got sunburnt through clouds be careful.

Holiday

A lovely place very different to any other place visited, long sandy beaches can be rough to swim in but had a flag out when safe to swim which we did as well as in the pool. Miles of beach to get away if we wanted be on our own, with lovely restaurants to drink and try local food.

Hotel was so very clean at Riu Funana, fresh food which was cooked in front of you. Definitely don't drink the tap water, but the hotel provide as much bottled water as you want, free any time.

Staff so lovely polite friendly, locals also loveliest people ever met just great all around holiday

Places Recommended

You can take a stroll in to little town, quad bikes were great fun for our 13 year old daughter....boat trip worth a go, the crew sang and danced on way back!

Weather

I went with my family for Christmas and the New Year 2012/13.

The weather was really nice at 80-90 degrees Fahrenheit with a nice breeze.

Holiday

We stayed at the Melia Tortuga in a Self catered villa with use of all facilities in the hotel.

The Staff were lovely and very friendly.

Food in hotel was ok if you like fish but there was very little else.

There was minimal entertainment, a nightclub, which my girls loved (great DJ) but it never really got that busy.

Places Recommended

It is worth going into Santa Maria to eat.

Ocean Cafe (recommend booking ) has good entertainment and food and the Baracuda was very nice.

If you crave pizza then go next door to baracuda, Palm Beach.
