Things to do in Benidorm in January

Desafio Medieval

If the weather takes a turn for the worst, seek shelter by heading to the Castillo Conde de Alfaz where you can watch the Desafio Medieval show. During this performance you'll be taken on a journey back through history to a time of knights on horseback, jousting and sword fights. The entrance fee not only includes the show, but also dinner, unlimited drinks and entrance to the nightclub afterward. If you want to make the evening extra special, you can purchase the VIP ticket for the best seats or the magic ticket which includes a magic show.

Altea

For a chance to see what Benidorm was like before mass tourism took over, pay a visit to the nearby Spanish village of Altea. Located just on the outskirts of the resort, this area is a world away from fast-paced Benidorm and is full of winding narrow streets to explore. There are two markets held here every Tuesday morning. The one in the centre of the village sells fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as herbs, nuts, sweets and flowers, whilst the one close to the sports centre offers more souvenir-type items, such as clothing, leather goods, jewellery and handicrafts.
