Weather
It does not rain much in the Beccles area. We had no need for a brolly or mac six days in an average week. The sun will poke through nearly every day and sometimes for a bit longer, then occasionally it stays around all day.Holiday
Beccles flies in the face of modern perception. It has a traditional heart with a church, square - including a weekly market each Friday - plus local shops, national chain stores and within a 5 minute easy walk there's a large supermarket with three hours parking.The market square has one hour free parking and this combination seems to allow the vast majority of the community and businesses to compliment each other and thrive.
Beccles has mostly good weather, easy access, flat terrain, though a visit to the Quay for its southerly contribution to the Norfolk Broads has a bit of gradient involved.
There's lots of nautical activity here, including boat trips to a nearby lock and quaint old pub. The main hotel in the town square is undergoing a major renovation, which should increase the town amenities, plus the rail station now has some flowers and a lick of paint. Beccles is certainly worth a visit and probably a stay.

Museum, lido in mid summer, church tower, Quay, Geldeston Lock, river walks, quaint Suffolk streets and buildings, some with of Dutch influence.The compact nature of town means most things are available within short, flat walking distances.
