April can be cool in am but quite pleasant by noon

I could echo many others who loved their visit to Barcelona and all attractions. Walked miles even though a great transportation system. Overall enjoyed what Barcelona offered. Both my wife and I guarded our pockets and after a week had no run-ins with attempted pick pocketing .... until last day. Exiting a subway stop (Bogatell), a big fellow seemed to crowd my wife and I despite plenty of walking room. I noted his proximity and while ascending the stairs he merged with me and my wife and dropped his phone in front of me (I had thought about picking it up but did not) slowing my ascent with a guy and girl behind me bumping me .... and it was then that I felt a hand enter my left side pant pocket. I immediately slapped my hand on top of the hand and grabbed it. I was about to twist -and-lock the arm and noticed it was the hand of the female of the couple behind me. I aborted any self defense move (I have black belt martial arts raining) but was incensed at the couple behind me (and the fellow who 'dropped' his phone). I confronted them despite a language barrier. They acted "innocent" and laughed me off as a over-reactive tourist. One of their other actors was behind them and was trying to tell me it was someone else who tried to pick pocket me and pointed to the bottom of the stairs (to distract me) to allow the departure of the other three. Four of them were involved in this pick-pocket ploy. Fortunately for me I did not lose anything. Watch out for the "dropped flowers, phones, etc" in crowed areas - more than one person is looking for the vulnerable tourist to become distracted, bumped or inattentive for that opportunistic moment by a gang of criminals.
Pity one of Barcelona's noted attributes is pick pocketing. And what's all that graffiti about??

Include Gaudi Cathedral (Santa Familia) I m going back again to Barcelona from Brisbane (Australia) in 2114, just to try and comprehend its strength and beauty.

Perfect for a city break. Warm enough for meals outdoors ( no cardigan needed even at 3 am) but cool enough to enjoy site seeing.

Days used seeing some places of interest then food then evenings enjoying the free festival concerts and parades and atmosphere.

La ramblas obviously, the squares, the best Lobster Paella was on a road called Parallell at a place called simply "cafe espanol"

When you reach the city, immediately you feel that you are on the Mediterranean.

However, when you start wandering around the city you realize that there is much more to it than the beach, palms and the sun.

We have just returned from our journey to Barcelona. I have been to Spain before, but never in Catalunya.

This was my first journey to the North-East of Spain and to the beautiful Catalan.

The architecture is, if I have to put it in one word, amazing!

When you walk down Paseo de Gracia avenue you feel like you walked into a fairy tale. The buildings are unique and as never seen before.

Wherever you go in the Eixample area, known for its Modernist architecture, you won%u2019t be able to take your eyes off the buildings.

Not to forget the old part of the city, Gothic Quarter and Borne with its narrow streets and really ancient charm that we fell in love with.

One of the best things of the journey is that for the first time we also rented an apartment at www.renttopapartments.com, instead of hotel.

We thought that it would be better as we wanted to feel the real Barcelona life and we were not wrong.

The apartment was amazing and overall we had a great experience. I%u2019d even say so great that we are already setting dates to visit it again.

great....hot and sunny.
Weather always seems better than forecast. Always get sun even if cloud and rain forecast. But mainly blue.
Nov, Dec very nice temperature and blue skies almost every day.
Best time for sightseeing as can still eat outdoors but not too hot to make city activities unpleasant...

Had several...food great and markets amazing but plan ahead, research and book tables as a little more money and planning allows much better food than the walk in trade restaurants...

Montuic and Tibidabo mountains for sunny winter walks ...1 and half hours away is gorgeous Costa Brava and picturesque inland medieval villages..
