Standing at 45 centimetres tall and carved from Jade, this statue is an extremely important religious symbol in the country.

Sea Life Centre

If you enjoy getting close to nature then Bangkok is home to one of the largest aquariums in the world. Sea Life Bangkok is ideal for getting away from the soaring heat of the outdoors. Water Fight

April's main event is the Phra Padaeng Songkran Festival, which is the official Buddhist New Year and the highlight is a huge water fight in the city centre so only attend if you're prepared to get wet! Alternatively, if you'd rather be in a different part of Thailand during April, Phuket has very similar weather to Bangkok.
