If you enjoy getting close to nature then Bangkok is home to one of the largest aquariums in the world. Sea Life Bangkok is ideal for getting away from the soaring heat of the outdoors. There are exhibits, such as an underwater tunnel to browse the many species of sea creatures, a glass bottom boat trip can take you through shark infested water, and there is a 5D cinema to experience too.
April's main event is the Phra Padaeng Songkran Festival, which is the official Buddhist New Year and the highlight is a huge water fight in the city centre so only attend if you're prepared to get wet! Alternatively, if you'd rather be in a different part of Thailand during April, Phuket has very similar weather to Bangkok.
